I am pretty much die hard honda but I ran across a deal on an
04 ltz250 for the daughter.

I thought maybe I would find out a little about it here but there where no threads in this section.

Ill post a pic of it tomarrow, and maybe give my own review later.

I looked and looked and then looked some more.
the 250ex's must be making alot of people happy because
no ones getting rid of them (around here anyway)
I drove about 550 miles round trip for this darn zuki.

I may have to take it to a dealer and trade it off for a honda

the darn thing has a bent shock on it (stuck really hard)
I have searched ebay and about a million net sites for
a replacement.

it is the exact same shock as my wifes 250ex and the 300ex's
I called the guy and he was supose to call back tonight.

I found one off of like a 96 300ex for 20 shipped, Im going to get it then tell the guy about it when he calls back.

I have 4 kids and the wife
wife=05 250ex
kid 1=04 crf70 (they wanted dirtbikes)
kid 2= 99 cr80 (modded and scary for 80cc)
kid 3= 99 400ex (just incase I need a back up)
mine =06 450r (favorite toy at this point)
kid 4= 04 z250 (not impressed)

ok around the yard with one bum front shock, this thing
must be worn out. It will pull the front end up (if I jerk the
piss out of it). Im not going to jump it with the front like this
but compaired to the wifes 250ex this zuki wont get out of its
own way !!!!
Im kicking myself already for not sticking with honda.

its got a couple good points, it fires up so fast its funny.
I mean you cant hit the button fast enough not to start it.
it does look sporty and really clean. (thats it)

if you look close you can see the front left (as sitting on it)
A arm is being held at a funny angle by the bent shock.

thats just it, I think it took a shot to the front but the rim/tie rods everything looks fine its just the shock. I took the shocks off and put the one good one on the other side just to check motion and its all good.

it still has the stock tires with prob 50% and the oil looks pretty clean, the air filter is clean but dry.

I thought the z250 and 250ex where close on power but not the two I have.

maybe thats why they got ride of it (they where not sure why it was driving funny)

heck, I can prob get a couple k trading it in on a new one.

the dang seat hight must be 2 inches higher on the z250 than the 250ex.

im regretting this one, but the daughter is in love with it.

one thing is for sure, she's not going to hurt herself on it
(this thing has no balls, my other daughters crf70 will burn it)

if ur daughters crf70 is burning it then it has a problem and it is way better than the 250ex it has no power the z actually pops up with no problem 2 wheelie my friends honda i have 2 pulll back cause they sukk

Im thinking there is something up with it also.

I have an 05 250ex and this 04 z250 and its not even compairable

its like the diff between a 400ex and my 450r.

the 250ex will pull the front end up easy in 1st and 2nd
and if I pull on it I can get 3rd up and once its up it will hold it.

this piece of suzuki will barely pull it up in first and believe me when I say im jerking the hell out of it.

I am so never buying a non-honda atv again.

pimpster, ask your friend if he wants to get rid of the 250ex
I have a sweet looking pile of suzuki I can trade him.

i pop up my z250 in 5th gear and hold a wheelie 4 as long as i want the honda is a piece of crap it has no throttle response its the 2nd most boring 250 ive ridden my z pops up wayy faster unlike than homo ***** honda 250 u riden dog ive raced my friends on his farm i rape him in acceleration my bike pops up high by slammin the gas even when i dont want it 2 so go back 2 riding ur honda on ur lil farm and poppin ur lil wheelies aiight

no i pop up wheelies sittin down in 5th gear because its a SUZUKI and my friend does it 2 SITTING DOWN because its a SUZUKI and it has a bigger carb and 20 more cc's thats where all the throttle response and acceleration comes form ok now pop it up in 4th and ballance a high chair 4 a long time thats all we do here we STUNT so yeh LONG LIVE HONDA BEING WORSE THAN SUZUKI (honda dirtbikes r a different story tho) but 4 atv's SUZUKI 4 SURE DATS Y ITS (THE CHOICE OF CHAMPIONS) ok now the argument is over, done ,finished,Y u ask because i say soo aiight

alright retard those 29 cc's arent top end they are acceleration and throttle response plus the honda has bigger tires bigger tires=more top end put 20' on the honda and the suzuki will spank it trust me my friend had 20's and i use 2 spank him he put 22's and he beats me in top end but the suzuki rapes in a cceleration

just to let you guys know, your talking of 2 different actual models. my 91 mojave has half the torque my 96 mojave has even though i got a filter, wb e series and 2 jets up on the 91. my 96 is stock and has way more torque. some quads are just falty or just been abused more than others. just riding one quad more, it will mess with the torque alittle.
my dads lakota 300 (280cc or somthing really) has some good torque again, alittle more than my 91 mojave but i always come out first when drag racing however when we just cruise at full speed there about the same top speed.

250exs and z250s are both good choices it just depends if you like hondas or suzukis.

I prefer honda's even more so now that I have bought a suzuki.

this one dont seem to be hurt too bad, its really clean, has original tires on it (50%) the oil is clean and the filter is clean
(but dry) it fires up in about 1/10th of a second.

I mean I can just tap the button (as fast as claping your hands)
and the stupid thing will fire right up and idle.

I think someone ran into something that was pokeing out like a hitch or something and it wacked the front left shock (bending it)

Ill ride red forever now.

My daughter raced a stock Z250 in 2005 and 2006.
2005 C.R.A. series utility class 3rd overall
2005 12 hours of atv america 3rd in youth class 45th overall out of 70+ against 450's and up.
2005 A.W.R.C.S. 91cc + youth champ.
2006 A.W.R.C.S. 91cc + youth champ.
2006 C.R.A. series utility class 5th overall
2006 GNCC youth race 9th in class against modified 300ex's out of 20+ quads.
This has been the most dependable quad that we own.
Other than regular maintenance, I had to replace the ring and pinion and 1 u-joint after all ot this abuse.
And yes we have other quads: Z400, YFZ450, 300EX, TRX90,
Alpha sports, Extreme 125, Warrior, but that little Z250 has benn like the enigizer bunny: keeps going, and going and going.
HMF made a slip on pipe for us, and this really has livened up the bottom end torque and brings the top end rpm's on a lot quicker.
Now if someone only made a good suspension for it!!

there are elka's on ebay for z250.

I guesss its possible that I have a slow freak (I know there are some fast freaks)

but its all I have to base my opinion on and this z250 is 1/2 the
atv my 250ex is.

okkk let me not talk about the z250 there so pathetic mines has a jet kit fmf megamax and a k&n filter and im blow pimpster pice of crap zuki by like 4 bikes the z250 is pathetic it even has more cc's and my friends has a full system and and jeta and k&n filter oh and if u put bigger tires on a z250 lets say 22's 4 top end it wont even come close because the z250's gearing ratio is 4 xceleration only not 4 top end and the z250 hits the rev limeter so fast its not funny so it has no chance it just get 2 top end faster but wen i race him he just takes off faster but its all top end baby so who wants a susuki dont waste ur money just get a 250ex 2006 which i have and its nice and mines pops up 5th 2 and my s hit wheelies 4 ever pimpster cant tougch me i wheelie further i handed lol and guess wat im ridin a honda[IMG]http:[/IMG] str1

hey bigj here is the pipe of the pipe but remember its older style but the only thing with new is theres a red ring arouns the end " not the end cap its self but whole pipe" they look awsome and sound like a little 4wheeler with a big block in it just to put it that way! lol and dont buy a queit core if you dont have to cuz it would be a wast of a loude awsome sounding pipe! so heres the pic!

its louder than the hrc pipe but not stupid loud, it has a really good tone to it. the throttle response is great but my jetting is off.

im running the stock hrc jetting (162) I have a jet kit on the way with 160 to like 205, It wont hook up for anything right now so I dont know how fast it really is.

the cold may also be hurting my jetting (my pipe turned a dull pink so I put it up)
