Hey i have read on here that 400ex a-arms fit exactly on a 250r. Do the shocks still work and do they make it any wider. Thanks

Stock ex arms are roughly the same length as stock R arms. The 400 arms have narrower bushings where they bolt to the frame, requiring 1/8" washers on each side of each bushing.

Once you get the a-arms on, the shocks are the same and you can use 250r, 400ex and 450r shocks. I personally use 400ex arms, spindles, hubs, and 450r shocks that are revalved and resprung zps. If you use 450r shocks though, you really need to have them revalved and resprung due to they ride stiff on 400ex and 250r's.

Yup, I am running +2 400ex a-arms with 450r shocks. Yea they are pretty stiff.

*More info/pics of your zps set up!!!

so could i use 250r arms on a 400ex?

Here's the pic's of my shocks. They are 04/05 450r shocks. revalved for 200# XC, and tripple rated zps. They are on 2002 400ex a-arms and spindles. I havent raced them yet, but in play ridding they handle great. Im not sure who did the work to the shocks. I got them off Ebay pretty cheap. I know C and D racing do a conversion similar to this, and my brother races an 06 450r and he had Santo Derisi do his shocks, and loves them. Most aftermarket shock manufactures do some type of conversion.
I cant get my Pic's up. I tried resizing and no go. If someone else can i will e'mail them to you. John

I want to trade a friend for his 400ex a arms, and I have 250r +2 a arms. All we have to swap is a arms, bushings, tie rods, and ball joints right? Will the 400ex ball joints work with the 250r spindles??
