i would like to see what people think about a stainless steel oil filter, had any good/bad experiences with them? im looking into getting one since the local yamaha shop wants $11.00 apiece for a paper filter, on top of almost $9.00 a quart motul oil so right at $30 for an oil change every fifteen hours, just seeing if i can save a little money in the long run and not have any reliability sacrificed. oh yea and any specific brands yall can recommend?
ive seen scotts and Ready Racing i think? found a RR SS filter for 60 shipped off ebay.

thanks

I've been running the Scotts version in my YFZ450 for close to a year now with no problems. I just installed one in my 450R as well. My dealer was charging 16 bucks for the YFZ filter so after 3 oil changes, the stainless filter paid for itself. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!! Maybe some other people will have some pros and cons as to why to prefer the other. Mine is based on cost and nothing else.

where did you get yours from, the dealer? how much did it run u? 60 also?

Posted by: Les Davis

I got mine from my local dealer but I think you can buy them from just about any aftermarket company right now. Try Rocky Mountain ATV, Magic Racing, East Coast ATV. I know they all have them at reasonable prices as well. Mine was 59 for the YFZ and 50 for the 450R.

$11 for a paper filter we sell hiflow paper filters for the yfz for $3.75, I have sold a few of the ready filters with postitive feedback.

Posted by: Colby@C&DRacing

$44.95 or if you want a anodized billet filter cover with the filter $53.95

I've got a ready racing stainless filter for a YFZ for sale. It's NEVER been used or installed or even taken to the shop....just taken out of the packaging and set on a shelf in the house. $30 shipped.

Posted by: oldskoolex400

AARON PM box full, i think ill take everything you have but the stabilizers, clean ur box and then we will talk,

thanks

Posted by: oldskoolex400

what kind of filter is it, what brand are the pads, and is it a foam uni or a k&n filter for the pro flo set-up?
and what kinda price tag for all this

Posted by: A A R O N

The filter is a Ready Racing filter, the pads are oem yamaha, and it is a foam filter. I would say $75 for all of it.

Posted by: oldskoolex400

u go 60 shipped on all of it?

Posted by: A A R O N

I wanted $75 + shipping, but make an offer....I just need a little more than 60.

Posted by: oldskoolex400

how do you service a foam filter? i have always ran a k&n with a pre filter over it

Posted by: onefast400ex

I run the CRT reusable filter and love it. It only costs about $40 for the yfz from rockymountain.

Posted by: A A R O N

You service a foam filter by washing it out, preferably with klotz foam filter cleaner, then applying klotz foam filter oil....

Posted by: oldskoolex400

ahh i think im gonna stick with a K&N how much for the pads and SS filter

Posted by: A A R O N

$55 shipped

Posted by: oldskoolex400

if you'll go 50 shipped ill send payment tonight via paypal

Posted by: A A R O N

nah, by the time I get charged the paypal fee and shipping it's just not worth it for that.

Posted by: oldskoolex400

so 3 sets of oem pads and SS filter for 55 shipped?

Posted by: A A R O N
