an 01 is still pretty new for a Honda, you may need a new topend at most.Maybe in 08 give her a freshening up,she'll run forever.Unless your rebuild is motor mods

Yes in the background is a blaster, its setup for flattrack. and while the motor is out i am going to have a fresh top-end, and the valves checked. this is my sons quad and its his first so he doesn't need more power right now. I am concerned with the suspension first.

how old is he?? why dont you install an 11:1 comp piston to give it a little more pep?
Posted by: anderson3064
he is 14, i guess i could install the piston since its getting new one anyway. thanks for any suggestions.
Posted by: bwamos
Yea, I'd toss in an 11:1 piston it will still be plenty mild. When you want an upgrade later you can just get the head ported and toss in a cam and you'll be set.
Posted by: anderson3064
cool, i will keep all suggestions in mind. we should be getting ready to have motor worked on so i will get some prices and throw them on here to see how bad some guys try to rip me

holy why do you got so many quads 4
and by the way the quad is looking really good some more updates would be nice

well I dont have many quads, the 400ex is mine, the 300ex being rebuilt is my sons and the 300ex and blaster in the background belong to my brother N law. but I will be getting my wife and daughter a quad this spring. so there will problably be 6 quads in my garage this summer. also we havent worked on the 300ex at all since last pics. i have been working bookoo overtime. i think we will be sandblasting this weekend maybe
