Web Cams has several grinds available for the Z400's and would probably better for an all-out race motor. Would be perfect for your 39mm carb. The HotCam is just a drop in that will improve everything; it is designed such that even valve spring replacements aren't necessary.

Just did a 434 Athena,hot cams and DRZe kit. Yes it is true you don't really need new springs but still highly recommened. Adavantage cycle offers the DRZ kit with cam chain DRZ gasket and springs and you can pick up hotcams pretty cheap on Fleabay right now.
Oh, the cams work flawlessly.

Pretty much ditto, except I have the wiseco kit and not athena.
