whats a good brand of slip on exhuast, that wont hurt my pocket to much but still be pretty loud for the 06 450er? i was thinking hmf but just wanted to get some more opinions...thanks

for price and power really cant beat hmf.... you can even slip it on with minmal jetting with the lid on of course... easiest thing to add to a quad for power sound and look imo.

i run the HMF also and love. you can install quiet core in no time at all when needed you won't be disappointed

you can get the same power and sound by pulling the baffle out. IT wont hurt your pocket. Wont look as good as a slip on but will work as good.

i love my white brothers MX4 slip on but if sound is an issue i wouldnt reccomend it. also if u need a spark arrestor i wouldnt buy it because it dosent have one.

thanks guys, ill probably go with the hmf everyones been pointing me in that direction. I already have the baffle taken out but the noise is a bit annoying but at the same time sounds decent and i dont want to screw anything up

Whatever you do, make sure you rejet. There's really no point in adding a slip-on uness you pull the airbox lid off and stuff a 165 main in it. You should also alsp in a 45 or 48 pilot, otherwise it will bog and pop on decel.
I would also highly recommend the HRC headpipe. You can get them on ebay for about $120 and it will help a lot with the slip-on. HMF makes a headpipe too, but I don't know if it's any better than the HRC one...

Toss the lid, add a 165-170 main. I tried a 48 and 45 pilot but both were too rich. Stock seems about right. I got a DMC slip on for a little over $300. It sounds about right for me, not too loud but enough to sound Deep and Throatie!! Heres a pic of it.

If you are going to spend $300 on a slip-on, look on ebay. I bought a brand new DMC Alien full exhaust for $309.00. It fits perfect and sounds great, I'd rather have the Sparks or the DASA but for the price it cant be beat.

Can someone help me with the right jetting for my 2006 450er, main and pilot. I have a HMF slip on, K&N with no airbox lid and a stage 1 hotcam. Thanks

The DG Bullet is nice inexpensive options those of you that dont care about performance. You cant beat the price. But if you want a quality produc that performs well, dont get DG. I really like the new Motoworks pipes. They have the best workman ship of any pipe I have seen and they perform great. The BUB Moto C-4 is also a high quality pipe.

Actually, the new DG pipes (Bullet) are very good....nothing like most of their other products. Comparable to HMF since it is basically the same design.

Actually, that's funny that you said that because I've read that its stronger low and midrange. The way you jet it has alot to do where the pipe performs better. But it definitly pulls hard all the way through. I think the biggest desparity over stock is probably in the midrange. I like the pipe alot is quite louder then stock but not too loud, I havent heard alot of different pipes on the 450 (HMF, white, yosh, and a big gun) but I think I like the LRD sound the best. BTW, I only have a slip-on.
