Help! 04 yfz450. I bought it used and was told stock. I cracked back the cam, put A Dr.D {dubach} pipe on. Stock jets are 158main,42 pilot and was told 4th down with clip. I put in (as per dubach) a 172 main and 6th down with clip and a 42 pilot(no lid). Here is my problem. It was set on 5th down and I pulled it out and a 55pilot. Will not idle with choke off,pops out exhaust but rips when on gas. I put in a 48pilot,then a 55pilot and still same thing, trying with or without airbox lid and messing with fuel screw and nothing seems to matter. I cleaned carb also. How can it still be lean and why did it have a 55pilot? Should I try to go up more? Ran fine stock,maybe a tad rich. Now runnig the 55 pilot on half choke with air screw 1 and a half turns out.

Try the 42 pilot and 2 and a half turns out on air screw. Should run much better.
