What time does the race start on that sat. Are there alot of atvs there or just alot of motorcyles on sunday.

Quads start at 11. There is usually a large turn out for quads, but the main reason is for the HUGE number of two wheelers. Bill Ballance was there last year.

maplesville is one of my favorite races of the year. It is about as close as we get to GNCC. there are no dirtbike ruts and we always start on time.
Usually they have a big turnout as it's a triple sanctioned race and alot of people come to prepare for the GNCC race coming up about 6 weeks later.
Last year Bill raced a quad on Saturday and a Bike on Sunday. Barry Hawk was also there.

I am thinking about going, Ive raced the MSHS but last season i decided to retire but I'm just getting fat and lazy from not racing
.
I'm planning to be there racing in the 40+,,,,,,,who else is going?

Do they have showers at maplesville? Is there a big hill like hazard kill there?
Posted by: harescrambles
I don't remember seeing showers but i never realy looked..
As far as 'hazard hill' lord i hope not, there wasn't last year but you never know, they do have plenty of sand though, that makes for deep ruts so make sure on your choice of tires.
I remember last season i got hung up bad in a rutted out corner with balance behind me yelling "wooooo go go go"
after the race he was looking at me he knew who it was

Track is usually around 10 miles. I love this race.
Looks like we will be pulling out of hoptown about 4pm tomorrow. I will most likely stay at Clanton Friday night and head over to the track Saturday am.

I think i am going to ride out and give it a shot. I never have raced in a XC race, and i dont have much trail riding experience but i do have 15 yrs of Oval, tt and mx so it will be something different.
Im thinking about running the 25-29C class, hopefully its not too fast, or should i run the begginer? I pretty much put my 450r back stock, narrowed the axle, dropped a tooth up front, put my quite core in , going to try and seal my spark plug boot, and probbaly tape up my connections. Anything else i need to do?
Ill be in a white 2wd f250, with a plain white 18ft enclosed trailer.

Hey 161 look me up. I'm still waiting on parts for my 450 so I'm gonna run my girlfriend's trx250ex in the 30+ C class.

If you go by the rules you would have to run the c class. Begginer is for some one that has never trophied in any style of atv racing.
I don't think you will have much trouble in the C class.

Thats what i thought, C is fine with me, but i dont konw if ill make it TT and oval racers dont like the rain or mudd.
Update, for Friday morning, rain just started in the area around 6:15 onmy way to work in Prattville, which is just south of Maplesville and its pouring. the drainage ditches havent been able to drain the water fast enough and i noticed some of the parking lot here at work is puddled up pretty deep. it should slack up but i dont konw. i will try and give an update for this evening.
UPDATE:12:00 rain has stopped and the sun has come out a veryy little but still clowdy. Patches of concrete has dried out and it should be nice if the rain holds off.
