The thing will not rev like a two stroke should. Will not pull to the rev limiter. Tried putting a pipe, rejet, air filter, resprung the clutch. No change. Would not pull its own wait in the sand. Put it back to stock and atleaset we can ride it around camp. Bought it new and just doesn't run like others I've seen. I am no rookie but sometimes you have to know when to ask for help. " HELP "

Have you checked the compression..Should be around 120PSI....Normal things to check would be plugged spark arrestor or trans problems but it sounds like you've eliminated those...Do the tires turn freely(no dragging brakes or bad bearings)?Could it be an ignition problem?..I'm not that familiar with the reverse model but they seem to have a lot of electrical problems with safety sensors due to the reverse..

Compression good. Electrical good. Did notice something strange. With the air claener assy. off it is trying to exhaust back through the carb. You can see it shooting the fuel back out. ?????

does it have stock reeds or have you changed them ???

Mark

Bike is all stock except for core removed.

i had the same problem with a race eton. it had carbon fiber reeds and a reed petal had broke. this shouldnt happen with stock reeds as they are metal but wouldnt hurt to check them.

If it is spitting back through the carb, you have a reed problem.

Posted by: TC440EX

Checked the reeds and they are good.

The only time I have ever seen fuel coming back out the carb is when there is a reed problem of them not sealing the cage openings all of the way.

Does this have the adjustable CDI on it, and is it set at its highest setting?

Posted by: markvette

me too brad, that is why i asked about the reeds. i hear you need a new top end.

Mark... I need more than that!!! My boys are killing me lately.

My youngest had a 110 built for him, and it has a cracked side case from it being being pressed together with the seal inside.

The 90cc backup bike, had its transmission ripped out doing the doubles over and over and over again at the indoor track during practice.

And my oldest's 108 from JA popped a whole in the piston during the last race and I am held up by base gaskets that should be here tomorrow for another race on Sunday.

Thank goodeness they pushed off the Glen Helen race until mid April now so that I can have enough time to have a great 90cc Nat'l motor built for that race.

Other than that it has been great. We are finishing up the hubs and carriers for my carbon fiber axles and the tierods and sway bars are going really good too. There just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day. I know you and Billy probably feel the same way.

bubba went thriugh so many trannies i cant even count, also went through 5 engine cases. put on a tranny saver and havent broke a thing since. he is getting to big for the mini so i am building him a 300ex. his head is being ported right now by lucky nichols of boo koo racing. seen a few of JA motors burn holes in pistons, he runs a real tight squish, way tighter than billy and i like to run. just got the oldest boys ex/yz hybrid back together. sounds like you been having some really good luck. hope it gets better for you.
