some have said 400ex will work for my 250x is there any adjustments i need to make. jets. filters?

if i can get a used kiehin 38mm would that be better?

i think i need to rebuild the whole engine. its runs very weak and a bit rough.

sounds like i shold get a cam while i am at it and maybe bore it out to 80 mm

anyone selling parts for a 250x.

looks like a nice project. i don't know a whole lot about the swapping of 250x carbs (or any 4-stroke carb for that matter.)

i already have :

+3+1 American Star racing arms
with 400EX Shock conversion,
extened swing arm with
+4 Durablue Axl
Renthal handle bars

i would highly recomend the 400ex conversion kit for any 250x or 300ex. it only costs about 2-300 dollars. It is a huge improvement. rides like a cadilac (aka 400ex) very stabile now

lets hear it guys what mods should i put into this motor while i rebuild it

i rebuilt mine last year and put a 12to1 comp piston, i recomend changing cam chain, and i put a new clucth and stiffer clutch spirngs in it. that made a big difference. but im putting a 350x motor in right now and hoping for a big improvment. i also have 400ex shocks on but i need 400ex a arm now.

If you got the dough ,go with a 80mm piston kit or 76mm which you can use your sleeve,that will put you at 260cc or so.Drop in a cam and get a 400ex carb along with a exhaust system and you should be ready to rip

nice, i have a FMF Megamax full system ill sell you for real cheap, but i would recommend that you save up and get a sparks. BTW i like how you front fenders are cut. do you have any more pics of it?
