there is a black spacer between the carb and the reeds. What would happen if i took the the spacer out? Or is it something i need?

not sure what would happen, but your air filter snorkle won't reach. I don't know why you'd wanna remove it but I don't think it will help. It isn't a regular mod for anyone that I know. Maybe LT80 can let ya know more.
