I have pics, but she's nothing pretty. The 406cc monster is still under construction. When the engine is done I will do the body, I have 3.5 sets of front plastic and 3 rear. 2 full stockers, 1 full maier (one piece non-race cut front) All front are blue and all rear are white- classic. The extra front is a race cut I did, I need a right...BLUE of coarse! 
I want to widen it at least a couple inches....maybe +4 all around.

Thanks for the complement. I tryed to get a red chain but they didn't have any so i had to go with blue. I ended up taking it to the local shop and he said that when i put the timing chain tensioner on it pulled the timing back just enough to not start.

i have a 2001 300ex with just about every goody you can get.
motor has: Stage 3 web cam, wiseco 12:1, 400ex carb, Curtis sparks pipe, Port & Polish
I have the Shock mounts moved up/400ex, 400ex longtravel front end and then to get the power to the ground i have Razr mx's all around mounted on Hiper's
Oh yeah, and almost every thing on my quad is bright red.

Haha, your right. Also, for the pic that is too big, put it in paint and go to images (up on the top there) and go to stretch/skew and put like 50 on both under stretch (it will actually make it smaller) and if thats too small go to undo, and just guess and check.

Kickstart- No prob. I want a blue chain to match my machine. Did they say why the tensioner did that? Did you have it partcially on when you timed it? Hows she run now??

i won't be able to ride with ym legs thats why i am gettin a 450 set up for my needs because you can't get reckluse parts for anything except 450s and i was plannin to go 450 for next year and i will be workin on gettin my skills back up to speed those pics were from the last motocross race i raced before my injury
250x project i love the 400ex i mean you can always get better but since majority of us will go 450 in the next 1-3 years i find its always better to make hese things a low budget racer and i had very small issues with my front just had readjust the toe and set my front shocks to the 2nd setting the only thing i wish i had before my injury was either a 2001 raptor rear shock or an elka but no since in complaining about it

he said hes getting it set up for him. which means he will probably have the rear brake lever where the clutch lever goes.
and buy using the rekluse clutch, you dont have to use a shifter.

and a air shifter because you still have to shift with reckluse clutches you just don't have to pull in the clutch and they make a rear brake kit as well so i can use my left hand for brakes when iget a yfz450(only 450s before 06 with estart) i will have a project thread on there like i did here last winter-spring

i dont really have to many close up pics most of them are deleted off my computer you still may be able to find a couple on exriders of the quad. tried works, axis, elka on the 250 and out of them i loved the axis the best and i honestly hated my elka's even after having them revalved twice i just could never get them dialed in as good as the axis....

I don't recommend the raptor rear shock after i seen what can happen. They arn't designed for the 300ex even though it does give a nice ride, Had a friend have the shaft bend on him during a mx race........ pretty shocked to see the shock do that.

dont listen to him. The raptor rear is amazing! I used all year on my XC 300ex. I won two championships with the shock. I am acually thinking about selling it if you want it. Probaly is due for a service($50) from C&D. just PM me.

shock shafts can be bent on any shock if the shock isnt serviced or adjusted correctly for what you are doing.

I know and have seen many shocks bend, you would of have to seen this shock to fully understand what i ment, it pretty much just snapped, i agree it was a good shock it felt very plush and had good adjustments, but in all honesty they are not made for a 300ex thats plain and simple yes alot of people have them but like i said if you mx then i would not recommend it. They are more likely to fail on you plain and simple.

The axle wasn't exactly what I wanted but the price was right. The fullbores are great but it was too pricey. If I had to do it over again I would get a better axle and some maiers with a 250r hood.

anyway anyone here running a 250x/350x hybrid. i did a conversion way back in the day it ran reallly really good i think i could even take a few 400ex when the came out brand new.

Its ok and thanks for the complement. Well u dont really have to cut the tank plastic but thats the best way i thought it looked. I researched for hours and it was the best look for my taste. I would do it the same way all over again.

pharit- My friend has an 87 250X, with the 350X Powerplant. Ran awsome untill he broke all 4 valves, and mashed the head, and piston...... We are going big bore now...It will be at least a 452cc when done, maybe more if stroked....Now that is a monsted "250X"

Yeah, that's 2muchquad. He THINKS it's a 385, but is actually a 380. Not that it matters, but I have to pick on him about something, just to TRY to show him up. He is a very smart man. He always has something up his sleeve and now is working on a 350X engine... Compared to his 380EX i have the same bore, but a longer stroke for mine.
Also I know bwamos and a few others have a 330, besides that I don't know anyone on here with anything bigger.

It's a durablue +2+4 adjustable axle. Durablue isn't exactly known for it's strength but it was under $200 so I couldn't pass it up. I actually wanted a lonestar or PRM.

496? That is entirely possible with my stroke and a 95mm bore, as we have talked of...could be a 499 with that piston and a 13.2mm(saw in old sig) stroker instead of the 12.7mm I have. If I still can't find my 86mm than maybe I will go for the 496...who knows another 90cc, just from a different piston. Where did you read of this???
Yeah I have heard some poor longevity of the DuraBlue, I'd like an LSR too.

we have a 300 with a 350 x motor it ran good but it started to smoke so we just had it bored to a .5 with a 12.5 wiseco put in it ill let you know how it runs. it is ported, plus 3 a arms, curtis sparks pipe, 350x swingarm and revalved 350x shock, works dual rate remote rzzy shocks,plus 4 axle. my son only weighs 80 lbs. so it should rip. also running the 16 inch shocks

My friend had a 350X engine in an 87 250X, It ripped with nothing but a Wiseco high compression piston..... Then it broke all 4 valves and mashed the head.

That's why I like the 1991 model. Blue and white like the 92, only a nice red frame. You also had the same pipe as I do. The RCM from DG, it looks.

What's the attachment in the front end? looks like ball-joints and a tie rod mounted vertically. Also contact me when parting out. I like the A-arms and rims. What size A-arms?

Its called a swaybar, mainly used for Flattrack And TT racing. The A-arms are +3.5 GDH Long Travel A-arms.

dam dude that bike is going to be like identical to mine when its done, like i said in your other post i did the 250r light. but i also got a 350x axle for mine, how much widder do you think that made your bike? im basically making my 300 like a "factory race bike" im building it out of parts off other bikes, like the 250r front end, 350x rear end, and to complete it im going with a camed 297 high comp piston, and 400ex carb

The 350x rear end never actually got put onto my 300. I never have had time to actually tear it down, with work, school, and sports. But from what i researched the 350x axle is around +2 and 3/4 inches or so.

Not to bad at all made new mounts for the front plastic and put pins through the front of the rear plastic through the frame.

For the most part yes. A little trimming to make the gas cap work and a little by the handlebars. thats about it

Yeah its stright forward, just order the heatsheild with the mounts and mount it up. I have one on my 300ex and had one on my 250x

I got the parts all of four stroke tech
it is on there web site
the parts are
it includes: piston, rings, pin & clips, sleeve, head gasket, stroked crank and heavy duty rod
(Stroked crank is on customer's core)

Very nice. The only thing I would change is the wheel spacers. Def like the color scheme...nice clean look. Do you have a mods list? What is it set up for? XC or MX?

ballance motox is an awesome track. i ran it on my 300 last year for the atva national. if you've never been there, becareful of the rhythm section before the finish line. the 300 most likely wont have enough power to double all of them. i could only do the first set and i finished top 10 in 13-15. i watched alot of guys crash trying to double all of them.
i had bajas on my 300 and destroyed them. i cant see how those could be better with the big gaps in the rim, especially with wheel spacers.

ya a few times but i dont really care for the quad track because its pretty plain and not very many jumps. now if we raced the bike track that would be fun. i ran my yellow 300ex #39 at byron...
