we didn't do much riding today, rather, we spent time getting ready for the HM trip next week. We did however take time to hit the new jump I built yesterday. Seems as if it it wide enough for a side by side pass.

how big is that ramp?
Posted by: CHAUNCY
Looks like you had some fun.
Posted by: Atomic83
I would hate to case that, ow
Posted by: 4punksdad
the takeoff ramp is between 5&6 feet tall. It is no problem to clear the top. I wanted to make the landing ramp about another 10' away, but I ran short on dirt.

that looks like fun. i wouldn't want to case that. i'd prob hurt myself if i tried that but i'll prob try something like that when i go to rausch creek this weekend. has anybody been there? j/w.

You're right 4punks, the kids are the cause, but we sure are having fun aren't we?!
I've been thinking about going to a little motocross track down the road, but to be honest, I'm a little scared of coming up short. I cased a little teenie jump and I learned real quick how someone can get their teeth knocked out by the bars! No damage to me, just my pride, I must have looked like a rag doll bouncing around!
Posted by: 4punksdad
I just stretched the landing about another 6'. I was fortunate enough to get one more load of dirt delivered. Quite frankly, I would like about 10 more loads to make things perfect.

are your kids jumping it yet or any other jumps you have and can they or have they tried any tricks yet? I have 5 year old twin boys and arron rides a xr50r and he saw me do a no footer today and i only jumped a few times to cool off then i went back to working in the shop and he keeped riding . well i guess about a hour went
by and the other twin (he does'nt ride) he said daddy you better come see this and i went out back about the time arron was fixing to hit the jump and he pulls a no footer like he has been doing them all his life , so i keeped watching and he does one every time now hehe i hope my wife don't find out.

Looking good 4punks!
You need some dirt, come on over, so long as you dont mind taking some rocks out of it!
Thats my problem I start moving dirt around then I got to take all the rocks out of the ramp, and landing then get more dirt to fill in the holes! The worst part is when all I find is BEDROCK.... I have a vein of it running though my track! I need to get the backhoe out there to fix it after the logging is done! My track prolly wont get finished till after the winter...grrr everything is taking so long, I am going to wait to get my 400, till after the snow is gone, then I will finish my track and make sure all my trails are A okay! I really do need to get out riding!

Thats one heck of a backyard. Lord..... I have to get out of NJ. Nothing like that in my neck of the woods. Your kids must think you're superdad, LOL> Nice pics, keep em coming.

man..that is a cool jump...looks like so much fun, even though its not very big.....
you are lucky..youy have your own track in your back yard...i have a pool, some grass, a bunch of concrete, and 2 small sheds (one is just a tool shed and the other is a housing for the pool equipment and pump..its even got a bathroom, shower, and sink)
i guess thats what i get for living in the city...

where abouts? i have a so-so track (kinda tough to make a track when you're unemployed and dont have access to dirt, or construction machines) on my 6 acres of land in the Ocean county area. i also have some trails (not mine) that are okay. but still, i know exactly what you're talking about- NJ is probably the most anti-ORV state in the country
