I have a 85 quad racer. I have put enough top ends on it to know that it is overheating. The radiator is fine. Any one put a cool head off and 87 up (blue motor) on an 85-86? The bolt pattern is the same and the jug is similar at the top so it looks as if it would work. Anybody?

it will work but u need one with out a shead stay or cut it of cause it will hit the frame. im putting one in my 86 lt this winter. if ur over heating what are u runing for anti freez? it needs to be mixed with distilled water becasue the heads and cylinder + the water pump will corode and make more problems.

it may fit, but you might want to check the compression afterward cause the 85-86's had a lot bigger bore size, and the heads might have different cc size which would change the compression

a kool head helps but if u run the right mixture of anti-freez and water will make it run cooler and use engine ice.
