i have a 97' 300Ex and the seat doesnt seem to fit right i have an oversized gas tank on it so, is it the tanks fault or could it be the seat???

Its probably the tank.What do you mean by "doesnt fit right"?It wont catch the 2 bushings on the frame rails up front by the carb boot or it wont latch in the rear?

oh its not that up at the front where the seat meets the front plastics it overlaps and doesnt fit right
