i have a 97' 300 Ex, im up 1 tooth in the rear, down 1 tire size in the fronts, maier custom plastics, k&n air filter, uni air box vents in lid, 128 main jet, 305 bore, 11:1 wiseco piston,

just for curiosity how fast do you think my bike would go?

Gearing controls the top speed of a quad. So if you are up one tooth in the rear, you would have a slightly lower top speed. The other mods just get you to your top speed quicker. I think the top speed of a 300ex is about 54 mph, so I would guess your quad will probably run 53.

well going down 1 tire size on the fronts increases the speed by at least 5 mph lol. Seriously though going down a tooth on the back sprocket raises the gearing so you can probley hit around 58 i am guessing

50mph ...maybe you'll be topped out and hitting the rev limiter in no time with a 1 tooth bigger rear sprocket.

dude...ITS A MOJAVE.its not the fastest bike in the world.300exs will walk all over a mojave stock for stock.

A stock 300ex against a stock 250 Mojave. Are you kidding? They are tit for tat. I'm not stock and he's not stock. I'm +1 up front and -2 out back, full exhaust, airbox removed w/ custom intake pipe, 400ex carb. With it geared that high it still accelerates faster than it did when it was stock gearing. Don't underestimate the Mojave. Get rid of the restrictive intake and exhaust and it's a real contender.

This thread made my laugh.

Mojave vs 300ex who would win. I would pick the 300ex. 2 years ago I was looking at quads for my GF and the Mojave felt slower then the 250ex we purchased. Now that is stock.

i used to ride with a guy that loved mojaves...my 300ex walked all over him when i was stock and he was modded...

but back to the original question...somewhere betweent 50 and 55...

If a stock Mojave was getting beat by a stock 300ex in a DRAG RACE then the person riding the Mojave can't ride. They are tit for tat.
I love how people say "I saw this or I saw that."
If you didn't actually do it then you don't have a story. You don't know if something is wrong w/ a quad you don't own or if something you can't see has been done to a quad.

And who ever said it was a 450? What a response. You're truly a genius. Thanks for clearing that up. I thought it was kind of small for a 450. LOL

well, i never met any of these other guys...the dude on the mojave had it for longer than i had my 300ex...there was only about 15 lbs difference between him and me( i weigh more)...his first one was a little used, but the one he bought new and brought it home jetted with a pipe and filter on was like i said new...i gave him a few rides to make sure it was broke in and then it was on...we ran down the road a short ways, a long ways and throught he woods...no matter what, he couldn't pull on me and then when i piped and jetted my ex, he did a little better in the road runs, but that was because i tuned my wb e -series pipe for more low end...

i got a buddy and me and him raced my 250x to his mojave i beat him straight up.we switched quads and he beat me.they werew both stock.that aliminated rider erros.
