i just bought a 07 se. how are these things geared for the woods? i know the honda is too tall and needs to drop a tooth up front. are the yfz's any different? or is stock gearing ok. i dont want to be stalling all the time

I have an '05 YFZ (stock gearing) and I can ride tight trails with no problem
and I'm pretty sure that the '07 has the same gears as the '05

i have the 07 SE and i dropped a tooth myself. Went with a 13, stock is fine, im looking for alot of low end power though.

im geared down as well, and i love it. more usable power i think. i ride in woods and sand flats and its still got plenty of top end to cruise.

when I am just play riding the woods I often throw a 13t on the front but for XC racing it is too low for me.... I often end up just running the stock gearing all the time, but I end up doing alot of clutching when I am following people

Rick, Gump has an 06 and I'm 99% sure he runs stock gearing. I've ridden two Yfz's (04' and 05') and they both felt fine with stock gearing to me.

I dropped a tooth, then went back to stock. Do the leak jet mod, it will help not stall when chugging through the woods.
