I am looking at the Typhoon 70 for my 5 year old daughter. She has been riding a Kazuma 90 for the past year but she wants to race and cant race a 90. What model year Typhoons are having all the problems and how are these holding up. I checked these out at a local dealer and got to ride the 90 through the parking lot. The dealer said there is something connected to the cdi that can be unhooked or modified to open these machines up. Anyone with some input on these would be appreciated. How does $2000 price tag sound on a new one.

That price is a little high. I paid $2100 for the 125. I think they are getting most of the problems worked out now. My 125 has not had the problems most people had. I've been very pleased so far.
