I was wondering if it was possible to polish some of the aluminum on the stock 06 R. If it is does anyone know what to use to make it really shine???????? Thanks

Depending on what the parts are, I just use a fine/polishing grade of steel wool and polish it out until you see it start to shine. Then I hit it with a bit of Mother's polish and it shines! I have done it to my grab bar, bumper, shifter, rear brake lever, you name it!

Mother's Mag and aluminum polish works great yeah like in the previous post just use some fine sand paper or steel wool and polish it after the more u polish the more of a mirror finish it will have.

I rolled my bike yesterday and scratched the top throttle plate and brake reservoir. They are both painted and I read somewhere you could remove the paint and polish the aluminum underneath. Just wondered if anyone had heard of that? might look kinda cool

yeah just get some paint stripper from walmart or something and then try and wetsand those scratches out (might have to start at 120 grit or something) and then move up on the grit till you get to the 1000 range, then use some mothers aluminum polish and you'll be blown away by the shine!

We usually ride at the la dunes (in forrest hill which is about an hour north of lafayette, near alexandria) and they also have a ****load of woods and trails in forrest hill to camp at and ride...its def worth a trip. They have some places southeast of lafayette but I've never been out that way. How long are ya coming down for?

I will be down there from dec 18 to jan 6 workin for Jake's. theres about 60 kansas college kids comin down there with our crew to work so we will be tearin up whatever bar scene is down there. hopefully i can ride once as well.

You wont have a problem finding a bar scene in Lafayette, lol. There's a few MX tracks around here too.

either the strip or downtown, you'll find a party

We still all need a big group ride. Maybe you could join.

I would use a buffing wheel and compound.
use white Rouge with a Spiral sewn wheel
then Jeweler's Rouge with loose cotton wheel or a different Spiral sewn wheel
