That is what i figured thanks though. I do have one question i found a 85 atc250r for 300. Could i use that case on my trx. I plan on building the atc as its all in parts but could i use the case for now.

you could just use the motor. But yea i'm pretty sure the cases interchange.

They do interchange, everything on the inside far as bearings, shaft mounts & bolt holes are the same. Only difference is the thickness of the case right under the crankshaft area, the 85/86 case is thicker, better.

How bad is your case damaged to need replacing.

Its cracked from the where the sprocket bolts down, to wher the cases join and has a dime sized whole in it.
