Any ideas what might have cause this?

That it a normal place that the frame will crack. There are certain areas of the frame that are prone to cracking. Just weld it up, and gusset it and you should be good to go.

Yep, common area for a crack. Mine was cracked there. Welded it up and was fine.

yup yup........ wutt they said. and from the looks of it, someone let it go WAY longer than they should have.

what you'll need to do is have that welded and then make stencils of thar area and fab up some gussets to go in that area.

heres what that'll look like.

strip u bike ,,and have it welded up and gusseted on both sides of the swingarm bolt ,,,,and u will probably find cracks else where ;i;e where the steering stem bolts on ,,and the front shocks mounts etc ....

It might have been cracked below the powdercoating and I did not know. I know it wasn't there before I rode the last time because I had the swingarm out to replace the chain slider. Im going to completely strip the frame because if its cracked there, its probably cracked elsewhere.
