Ok so I got my roller this week, and Im gonna be tearing it all down and getting it redone. Anyway one of the first things Im looking to purchase is a bolt kit for the frame, motor, fenders, ect. But which company is the best to buy from, ebay is pretty littered with them. Id like to get the most complete kit as possible at a fair price.

DO NOT BUY the masternuts user name kits from ebay. They are a joke. I paid $40 and could have when the hardware store and spent $10. There was not even 1/4 of the bolts I needed in the kit.

If you go with a stainless bolt kit make sure to use some anti-seze on the bolts before you put them in. I tore down my 250r when I blew the motor, and many of the bolts are now useless. I don't remember what bolt kit it was that I bought. It was a 400 something piece kit for around 90 dollars. Overall, except for when I went to dissasemble it I was very happy with it.

I bought an awesome kit off eBay. It had so many bolts that I have about 20 left over. Some aftermarket parts don't use as many parts as stock. The seller was fasterguy. I have seen a whole bunch of his kits on eBay. It's a 465 piece stainless set. all bolts are packed induvidually and labeled for which part they go to. Here is a link to the bid I won a while back.

The kit from fasterguy....Do the bolts look like the factory ones?

They are allen head bolts, and they are stainless steel, so they will have a polished look to them.

i used those too , really good . covers all years as well so theres loads left over . as stated you MUST use copper slip or similar to stop them seizing up . also do your self a favour and buy a stainless swingarm bolt and drill a grease nipple in your swinger .
only thing i did not use were the bolts for the rear suspension as the proper ones allow the travel of grease through them .

good point

and also for hard mx-ing they may distort, as they dont have the strength that the stock bolts have. this usually happens at the points where the rear shock mounts.

WOW great info guys. I was looking at the 5?? peice kit and it said alloyboltz or something at the bottom, but not sure who the seller is. 89 bones for it. Anyone know what grade these things are, and whats the best way to keep the swinger bolt from freezing, I hate that crap...Ive beaten too many of them out for hours and hours.

I have an Alloy Boltz kit for my project and fasternerguy kits for the other 250R project in our shop and my ATC200X.

Add lots of anti-seize compound to the entire bolt shaft if you are having seizing issues.
