are the ltz450s good with gas?

I did a 50 mile poker run with mine stock and it barely made it all the way. I almost never had it wide open. The next week we went and rode the same trail to clean up garbage and clean ruts infront of peoples houses and whatnot and ran out about 5 miles before the end. We were traveling at a faster clip though between stops the 2nd time. I would say that 30 miles is doable at a fast clip, but that was the only time I ever had mine on the trails.

I think it just has a smaller gas tank than others. Never looked at the numbers for actual sizes. It just seems like it holds less gas than others.

Also with the PIM and the Yoshi it runs rich so it's using more fuel than it should because of the POOR tuning MAP Yoshi has programmed in. Of course we know why they did it. It's so no one can say that it was too lean and it ruined their motor.

Good point!

PS the tank is a little smaller then most sport quads

Hmmm, I dunno about you guys but I can get about 60 miles of hard trail riding in with no problem at all. I could go about another 5 miles if I needed to, but that would be cutting it a bit close.

In every one of my races, very heavy on the gas, averaging consistantly around 35 to 50 miles, and the gas light has never come on, usually have at least 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon left in the tank at the end. Just my $.02

yea the tank for the ltr is very small the smallest in its class. ims makes a bigger tank that doesnt change the look to much. dirt wheels put it on their project ltr in i think august or october mag.
