I just started my engine after 4 months of sitting an it smoked like a *****. Why is it smoking so bad? and my head pipe got real hot real quick.

When is it smoking, just on start up or constantly?

thats from it sitting so long. it should stop after a while

Well i dont know if its on just the start-up or if its constantly because i shut it off after about 30 seconds. I dont want to harm it. I will start it up tommorow and keep checking oil etc. Then ill see if it smokes. Thanks

I'm not positive but from what I hear if your quad smokes on start up but stops after a few minutes then its most likely your vavle seals.

what color is the smoke?

Pretty normal for the ex. Its your valve seals. A little oil leaks passed them and gets in your cylinder, so the longer it sits the more oil that collects. After its warmed up and run for a couple minutes it will quit.

It could be that the rings have to reseat themselves after sittin for a while.
it should be fine.

.....An' If the bike smokes when you rev it up ?? im not talking limiter stuff , just a mild blip on the throttle and puff the magic dragon arrives ....
White smoke . oil consumption is a bit excessive . I can never get it to read the same level (full ) after 2 rides .
What gives ??

Smoke is probably just condensation build up, however with it running really hot, you are probably running really lean, and this is probably caused from the jets being partially clogged after sitting for four months. Take the carb apart and clean all passages and jets out and it should be good.
