Aww man, that blows. If you cannot get it in time, I can find something for you to ride. Hell, if one of the dealers happens to have a stock gasket set, I have a stock cylinder that we could put on it. It may be a bit over ported, but it is better than nothing!
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Hey, I am gonna call around for you tomorrow. Craig may have one at the shop, or maybe that shop in Lafayette...Kelly could pick one up. I know that both places COULD get it if not, I just don't know how soon.
Posted by: bayou boy
i am hoping the honda shop is open tuesday..so i can get a gasket. if not maybe one of the shops in metarie will be open so i can have get i need. if so i can pull it down heli coil it and put it together. i noticed last time we were at the dunes it seemed a lil lazy then that sunday at the spillway it seemed lazy. still strong but not as strong. it has had a leak for a while but real small today i was preping it for next weekend and i looked at the leak it seemed bigger so when i revved it i could feel the air blowing..uh oh. now i gotta do it. it is an ez job just hope i can get the parts. i am off tuesday and friday so i have time. btw we are leaving friday at noon to head out there
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Alright, that is the same as us, though we will probably leave Friday morning just for the ride. When are ya'll coming back? Did you guys change plans at all? We are making it back Sunday.
Your EX did the same as mine. It seemed like it was becoming excessively lazier every time i rode it, the last couple times was just retarded. One day on start up I noticed smoke coming out the side of the bike LOL. The only problem I have been having with it is the battery-which appears to be gone at this point. I need another.
But yeah, I think that we can get her back going in time. It should be running strong once she is together again.
Posted by: bayou boy
we are coming back home sat evening. my battery is getting weak also...makes it hard to start with the aftermarket cdi. once it starts it is fine. once i get it changed it should be strong again..hope the ltr guy is there. i was beating him with a blown gasket...lol should be better with a fresh one. i have another 416 coming with us. carbon copy of my motor. should be fun
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Yeah, mine won't even turn the engine over sometimes unless I have been running it.
Who's bikes are those? Is that Tommy's bike?
And yeah, I want that LTR guy to come back for a little more. Man, I just love those Suzuki guys. Next time out I think I may poke a little fun with some of them. Race them and let them beat me horribly, then stop, tinker with the bike, and race them again for real. After I take the plastic off of their bike with my roost I can tell them that I changed powerbands!
Posted by: bayou boy
the other quad is jerimiah's old ex...he sold it to a friend and he is going. our local honda shop is closed till jan 2..they have one in morgan city which is about 1/2 hr away if not i will call garret. hopefully i can find 1
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Aww, that blows. Yeah, a search is definately in need right about now...do the honda shops around here stock gasket sets for it?
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
Do you need a base gasket? The bottom of the cylinder? It just so happens I have a extra cometic gasket im not going to use, im using high temp silicon to seal it.
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Unfortunately I am pretty sure he probably blew the head gasket...same as me.
Posted by: bayou boy
i need a head gasket....thanks anyway. usually the local shops have head gaskets in stock....lol prolly not this week though
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
On the back of the box it says Hon xr/trx400 1996-01 87mm .027'' MLS head gasket.
so I assume it's a head gasket.
Damnit, I can't even tell what gasket it is

I live in river ridge, i opened the plastic a ltitle bit to get the valve seals out (i need them).
anyway, make a offer
Posted by: bayou boy
i will buy the whole kit if u like....i should change the xhaust gaskets too....what u paid for the kit? i bought my 400 from a guy in river ridge....is it the xr kit?
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
All I have is the head gasket, that's all it came with, that exhaust gasket, and valve seals (although I need them, so i'm keeping them) I paid 20 bucks from c&d racing.

Awesome. Good to hear you should be good to go. You don't need anything else, do you? Just making sure, that way I can make some calls in time.
I will probably pick up the 05 today just incase. It isn't anything for us to change a cam, but the damn suspention always takes me a while. I don't know why. Dee to the third power.

Anybody know of a good place to buy Haulers other than Rocky Mountain? They only have a limited type of paddles offered, unless maybe you can special order them, and I am looking for something in particular.

It was mine, I checked it, there's no water in the ports, lucky.
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Oh, alright. Good to hear that nothing is wrong with it. Had any luck with the exhaust yet?
If it doesn't work out for you, I will trade you for my state of the art FMF exhaust LMAO.
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
hahaha, I got a friend coming over in a few minutes, he's a genius, he's in the process of rebuilding a 66 nova! supercharged 383 stroker!
Hopefully I can get this exhaust on today, I want to ride!

Did you try www.motosport.com or directly from skat-trak?
Posted by: bayou boy
all done
...was better than i thought. the bolts were still torqued not like tommy's meaning the studs are still good and tight. turned the key and she fired right up...even did some good burnouts in the yard. well i got the paddles and new hand grips on the only thing i didnt do is install my new anti vibe stem. they have a place in lafayette that stocks haulers. looks like a lil rain friday but partly cloudy sat.
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Yeah, I checked out the weather...Friday may be a problem, but it looks good otherwise.
I am gonna search around here for tires, too. Maybe craig has some or that shop in Lafayette. It may be the one you are talking about.

Alright, cool, thanks Timmy. I have bought from them before, that is where we get our C12 from. I met Scott at Sicily Island. I didn't know that they had Haulers, I am gonna give them a call tomorrow.

Anyone have directions to the dunes and spillway from Slidell La?
Posted by: bayou boy
spillway from slidell...take I-10 west...go thru N.O. the first exit after loyola ave. in kenner will be boutte houma on I-310 take that exit. once you get on 310 about 4 miles you will see US 61. norco kenner. take that exit. once you get on the exit go right toward norco..about 8 miles....you will pass a refinery....shell norco. the spillway is right after it...get in the left lane and watch for a bridge...that is the spillway. do not cross the bridge, they have a center lane for turning....you will make a left at the foot of the bridge...will look like you are turning on the levee but when you cross you will see a road just follow it to the parking area...helmets are a must.
the dunes....hmmm prolly take I-12 to baton rouge then get on I-10 to lafayette....when you get to lafayette take I-49 north...roughly an hour you will see the forest hill exit....take this exit and go left....stay on this road about 15 min...it will dead end in a tee right after you cross some railroad tracks. take a left about 5 miles watch on the right for a sign....the dunes. at this sign take that right for about 2 miles there is another sign marking the entrance. we are heading to the dunes this weekend supposed to be a good turnout. come on out it will be fun.

There is a very slim chance that I might get my exhaust in. Doubtly, but they have shipped it out and it is coming straight to me, so it is a possibility.

What exhaust did you order?
I tried to straighten the studs today, no luck, they don't move at all. My friend should be coming today, we might just take the studs out and go to honda and get new ones, my cousin works at Boyce Honda, I get discounts
. But damn, once we get this done, my quad will kick ***! Also, i have 750 dollars to spend on my quad, im thinking suspension and arms. Someone help!
Another question, does anyone have the dynojet, keihin jet conversion chart? I need it badly.
I wish I had about 2500, I would buy one of those Laeger or Houser + Elka packages.
Posted by: CHEVYZ
I don't have the chart off hand, I would have to look for it.
The exhaust I ordered is Rossier Engineering for the 07.
Posted by: bayou boy
what kind of riding do you like to do the most? if you like running the trails fast wider a arms would not be good unless u went plus 1 with 4-1 offset front rims. good shocks are a big improvement....good port work and a better carb also money well spent. shocks are the best money spent as far as making you ride faster. for 750 you could get some works or elka econos and a gt thunder link and revalve. that would be a major improvement. i had all the money for shocks but kept getting waxed at the drags so i put the money in the motor instead....but all that power really does no good if the quad doesnt handle good...cept in a straight line. i have that problem now in the trees i find the quad has more power than the suspension can handle. better shocks are definitly in my future....as far as the chart i think they had size comparisons posted here a few years ago...try a search in the powertrain section they have alot more info. i really never fooled with the dynojets much. i prefer the kehin jets...no odd sizes and ez to get individually
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
I just got three of the 4 exhaust studs off, they came out sooooooooo easily, but the problem is....I got the nut stuck on the stud!
Posted by: bayou boy
got a vice???
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Yes, I agree. Suspention is definately a must, but pick what you want wisely. I don't regret doing my engine work, I spend most of my time in the dunes and need the power, but I do regret not doing my suspention.
If it were up to me, I would do basically the same setup as Timmy. I plan on ordering a set of Works or Elkas, getting my rear shock rebuilt and ordering the link for the rear. That is my plans for the future, but my riding consists of mainly trails and dunes. What do you plan on doing with yours?
Long live the dinosaur haha.
Posted by: bayou boy
when u put the new ones in use a lil never seize. looks like it may rain sat

The one tool I need the most and I can't find it, haha. I have channel locks. Lots of channel locks. I got the ratchet and 12mm socket on the nut, and (not caring for threads because im replacing the studs) the channel locks on the threads and "attempting" to get it off. It just slips, nothing works! I need one of those things that mounts on a table and you a lever and it closes, I forgot the name of it.

What's a good way to install them? The same way I got them out?
Posted by: CHEVYZ
It better not rain.

The channel locks worked, my hand hurts though.
Are any of you guys left handed? Just curious. I am.

get 2 nuts and put them on the studs...then tighten the nuts against each other....put a lil never seize on the threads and screw it in the head with the wrench on the outer nut....when it is in break the 2 nuts apart and remove then....never seize the rest of the stud and do the next one.....why reuse the old nuts if you are buying new studs....buy new nuts too. my dad always used to use this on me when i was growing up.....it doesnt take any longer to do it right the first time than it does to @#%#$! rig it. meaning to do it right the first time is better than having to re do a half *** job......works for me
Posted by: bayou boy
i have always been a lefty.....but i can do most things with either hand.....i think we will go rain or not

Same. I'm going to the spillway Friday, rain or sunshine.

Damn it!!! My paps cant find time to bring me to LA Dunes
I'm not complaining thou, I hate wet riding
Maybe next we can arrange a ride when it's half a** dry
Just wanted you guys to know...
You guys have a nice ride and a Happy New Years!
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Sorry to hear that you won't be making it Mc. Muffin. Have a Happy New Years anyway!
I started getting ready this morning. I still am not sure if it is gonna be worth my time to cam the 05, but I picked it up and added paddles. It is ready to go anyway....the 400EX is always ready to roll, and the 06 just needs paddles. Only thing I still need to do is wait for my exhaust LOL.
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Yay! My exhaust is in. I could not be happier with the exhaust and service I received. For $390 shipped, this exhaust can't be beat!
Can you believe Rossier even sent a sheet out with it giving instructions for proper installation and good *free* mods to help work with the exhaust, as well as setups in general that work well. Amazing.
Posted by: CHEVYZ
I went and snapped a quick shot...came out like crap LOL. Can't wait to see it on the bike. I sense some work ahead of me tonight.

Don't bend the studs
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Doing the exhaust should be pretty easy. We have done this so many times it has just kind of become easy, the only pain in the butt will be getting the fenders at the tank off. They have a little brass fitting that secures into the tank so that you can secure that fender on, and the fitting just sits there and turns when you try to remove the screw. You end up having to rip the whole thing out and reglue the piece back in. Not really a problem, just aggrivating.
I might need to see if I can pick up some more jets, too. I think that we have used up most of them by now LOL...most are either real small or real large.
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
I have an idea on what im doing, im going to buy this and my dad said he would lend me some money to get +2 arms or +3, can't decide.
Posted by: CHEVYZ
We decided just to bring the 05. It will just be much easier, and I think I could have alot of fun on it anyways....I really don't want to end up needing shims for the cam or cutting break in short. We may put the Rossier on the 06, we don't know.
Unfortunately, Kelly won't be able to come until Saturday, so we will leave Sat morning instead of Friday evening.
Those shocks look nice 400eXr1d3rZ. A little too pricey for me being the rear will still need to be set up, but to each their own. I bet they will handle like a dream!
Posted by: Quad_King
CHEVYZ- That Rossier pipe looks great! Once you install the exhaust on your R throw some pics up...
I heard the Rossier pipes are hard as hell to install thou. Are they really?
Oh I'm not getting my Rossier exhaust I was planning on getting, I bought my CR back from a friend, so I don't have no more money
400eXr1d3rZ- I would get the PEPs! Only 595! I would get the +2 A-arms... I wouldnt get the +3 A-arms, because then you will be way to wide and you don't have to reason to be wide... Hell you don't even need the +2 A-arms
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
I might get +3, They cost the same (Wicked Products).
I just wish those PEP's were piggyback rezzies, those look alot ALOT better.
Posted by: CHEVYZ
The pipe looks like it will be an easy install. It is built very well....it reminds me alot of the DASA as far as the way it is built, but at the same time is different entirely.
Posted by: bayou boy
looks like rain sat..
Posted by: bayou boy
looking up....just checked weather.com and now it say just am showers for sat....yall staying sat nite? i may see if they wanna leave sat and come home sunday
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Yeah, we are staying from early Sat. to late Sun. See if they want to stay Sat and Sun instead (up to you, too)...you can probably avoid most showers as well, so more time to spend riding!
Posted by: bayou boy
the fools still wanna go tomorrow....its guys weekend to ride but one of their wives said no go for sun...so we leaving tomorrow
and coming home sat evening. good thing i chilled another bottle of the brazilian good stuff...may be a long night

Ah, it is all good. We will still have all Sat just about. Are ya'll leaving kind of early or later in the evening?
I still have to fix one of my breather hoses on the 06. It touched the exhaust and burnt a hole through it. Now it runs a little funny.
Good to hear the exhaust sounds mean. Sparks makes a wicked pipe for the 400.
As far as cop stories...let's not even go there. It has gotten so bad that my cousin rode his Raptor down my street one time and the cops showed up at MY house personally LOL.
Posted by: bayou boy
about 20 years ago where i lived the neighbors were like that....well i had 2 dirtbikes....a yz 125 and a kx 80 so one night after we went out my friend and i each got on a bike and made a few high speed passes at 3 am. what the hell they already hated us because we rode down the street to get to the trails and i was moving soon so we just stirred the pot a lil more....but any way now i am old and a parent and just cant do stuff like that anymore...
but anyway we are leaving in about an hour...c ya there. u put the xhaust on the 06?
Posted by: CHEVYZ
We haven't, but we may. If time grows short tonight we will probably bring it out there and test before and after to see how much of an improvement it makes. The DASA did much for the 05!
See ya'll out there!
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
I just realised the one thing I forgot to do, move my clutch cable! I am NOT taking the exhaust off again! It's probably melted!!
Can't I get a 250x cable and it will run around the frame or something?
Posted by: bayou boy
i had to re route mine to fit the hmf...i used a 400 cable. the bracket in front by the cylinder i bent a lil bit then at the upper frame i used a couple of zip ties. just look at it good
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
WOW! It fit fine! I just went and checked it. Less than a inch away from the pipe! But not melted

Good news is that IF they finish we may be able to make it tomorrow and Monday instead. It is doubtly, though, and we will have to miss the trip with Timmy.
Sorry we could not make the trip Timmy. Hope ya'll had a good one anyway.

friday was good we ran till about 1 am. rained later sat nite.....sat morn the creek was waist deep.....we floated the quads across...put 4 people to hold it....people were like f... that but after a while alot of people did it...the creek went down enough to cross at about 3 pm. we had a good time...that head gasket was what it needed.

Do you think this jetting is good, DJ155 main (i believe it's equal to a 172K) and 42 pilot, and 2 3/4 turns out fuelscrew??
Incase you forgot, i have a hotcam stg 2, stock carb, sparks full, 10.8:1 comp piston, and twin air filter, lid is on. It feels a bit choppy when i smash the throttle but it's alot better then when i had the 165K main in.
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
Anybody got an extra needle/jet holder I can buy? Mine is stripped an that's why the dynojet adapter didn't go into it, so i just forced the 165k main into it. I didn't want it to stop me from riding.
And yesterday i rejetted and i didn't know you needed the adapter, so i screw the dynojet into the holder and i rode it for a while, it felt like the choke was on at about 3/4's throttle, i took it back apart and guess what i find at the bottom of the bowl....yes that's right, the main jet fell out LOL.
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Aww that sucks. I still have my stock carb laying around somewhere, but my shed is such a mess right now it would take me forever to find it.
As for your jetting, it seems like it is pretty close to me.

Just let me know if you find it, also, what did you have to do to get the 450r carb on? Im thinking of getting one.
Posted by: CHEVYZ
It was extremely easy, and some of the best money spent on my quad for performance. Made me realize how much the Edelbrock sucked haha.
The basics of it: Had to grind out the intake boot a little bit to have it fit, cut off a piece of the choke (though I hardly ever use it, necessary to work properly) and put tie wrap on it so that it makes it easy to work with, and we had to make a bracket to move the airbox forward just slightly. I think that is about it. It is really, really easy.

What jetting are you running? Are 400ex jets and 450r jets interchangable?
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Running all stock 2004 450r settings minus a 175 main, and it runs great. I don't think the jets, other than the main of course, is compatable.

400eXr1d3rZ, I am still here, but I guess that was a given. I am still not on quite as much, though. Those big tall quads are crazy....the nitrous is just funny, though. Bayou boy probably remembers that guy at Sand Hill with the KFX 700 with nitrous asking us and a bunch of drag bikes "Who wants some?"..... it was funny as hell because.
I see that first video is from State Capitol, though. They suck so bad it isn't even funny. Even if I had a full drag bike, I still would not go back.

cant go this weekend , but next weekend for sure
Posted by: bayou boy
may be able to go next sunday too

My dad has to start working a bunch of days starting Sunday, so I don't know for certain yet or not. We would sure like to though, it has been a while since last rode somewhere!

is there any real good places to ride around central louisiana
Posted by: bayou boy
La. dunes and camp claiborne are both in central La. forest hill to be exact...dunes is all sand...sand drags and some sandy trails. camp claiborne is woods trails...they have 3 30 mile loop trails camping is available at both
Posted by: dmaricle
yea i live in forest hill. camp claborn is closed for a while and the dude is just so freaking rough but i tell u i have 2 locations that not to many people know about and 1 of them i am about the only person that rides there.
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
I went hunting, got a pig and 3 rabbits. I'm going next weekend too, I don't have school next monday so i'll probably be at the spillway.
Posted by: bayou boy
they actually started to smooth the sand at the dunes. i had not gone in a while because of the rough sand but i heard they started to grade it so i went for thanksgiving....he graded it...i went back for new years...got there the friday and they were grading it....much better than it used to be.....not perfect but a step in the right direction. just hope they keep it up..
good luck at the spillway ryan. from what i hear with all the rain the 4X4 quads pretty much got the place all tore up
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
I'm looking at some arms I found on ebay, LSR +3's for a 250r, come with rotors, hubs etc...not sure if they fit though. I may buy them or get a new set of Fullflights or something. I'm not sure what i'll do.
Posted by: 400eXr1d3rZ
I just found some nickle plated +2 burgards for cheap as hell. Brand new!

no sand hill is in perkinston mississippi...a lil north of gulfport. the place in forest hill is the dunes inc. also known as La. dunes. BTW area 2 in the spillway is closed again due to all the recent rain the 4X4 guys have destroyed it again. looks like it will be closed for a while..
inconsidarate a holes think the whole world should be a mud hole. there is talk of new restrictions....hope it is tire restrictions simaliar to what they have in the national forests.
Posted by: dmaricle
yea lol i never heard of sand hill. the only places you can ride in forest hill are my dunes behind my house txi and la dunes everything else is closed. but if and one ever wants to ride i am always looking for people to ride with. so any riders want to ride hit me up.

That is bullsh*t. Those 4x4 riders need to get a life-the Spillway has gone to crap because of them. Just a big mudhole. As soon as something is redone, they wait until the rain comes and rut it/destroy it again. I wish that they could place rules in the Spillway, the 4x4 riders need a place of their own where they can ride only. You can't find a smooth spot in the whole damn place.

Yeah, like bayou boy said Sand Hill is in Mississippi. Fun place to ride, but a pretty good drive from your area compared to the LA Dunes or Forest Hills. I have yet to ride in Forest Hills, but my buddies tell me that it is real nice. We will probably be making a trip sometime in the future. Right now we have no time to spare, though, so it will probably be a few weeks (two I am hoping) before we can make it anywhere.

We should definately meet up somewhere one day. Like I said in the previous post, though, it will probably be a few. We will be making it out to the Clash in March for sure...so that is at least one thing already planned.
Haha, to show just how busy we have been, I just put the first tank through the 07. That thing is begging to have some things done to it right now....damn stock bike.

wat clash in march are u talking about? yea my bike is stock to lol. also do u know of and mx tracks around here.
Posted by: CHEVYZ
Where do you live? I haven't been to any MX tracks with my quad yet, but my buddy races bikes and has been telling me of a few around that race quads also. One in particular is in Hammond I believe.
The Clash in March is the Clash of the Titans at Catahoula Recreation. Basically a really killer drag racing event that goes on all weeked. Not all draggging, though, they have pretty much all that you want.
Posted by: dmaricle
i live about 15 min. from alexandria, and i am going to grand prairy mx track this weekend. it is my first time to that track but it is a small track i think but i want to try it cause its only 5 bucks to ride. i also go to breuo bridge( i am sure i spelled it wrong) it is a nice track off of I-10 and it is 20$ to ride but it has some real good jumps for a quad and is well maintained.
Posted by: bayou boy
go to www.sltrailblazers.org look at the threads they have alot of improvements planned but by having to keep fixing what the 4X4's destroy. it has all the improvments on hold indefinitly. i know they have to be getting frustrated they did all that work to have it all destroyed in just 3 weekends. it takes alot of hard work to keep it open. i hope they do some serious restrictions on the utes. they think every lil puddle should be wallowed out to a bottomless pit. i am glad deer season is about over now i can get back to working on my woods track...so far i have a 1/2 mile loop but i want to get at least a 2 mile loop with jumps. i will let you know yall can come ride there. screw the spillway i think i wont be there too much anymore now that i can finish my spot

what are your plans for your track?
Posted by: bayou boy
basicly a woods track....xc style. tight and twisty a few straights, jumps maybe a few logs over the trail in a few places. just a place where i can practice and work on my riding. they also have a pasture that is not used except to make hay. i use the outer edges of the pasture for high speed straight and fast turns you slide thru to connect the woods sections. it is probably about 200 acres total. all fenced in so you can only get in thru a locked gate. is in the middle of nowhere....no houses for like 10 miles...serious. and some big oak trees to park under. it is a perfect place to ride. my wifes cousin owns it and alot of land around it. he uses the other land for cattle but not this section so he said we could use it. just during deer season people hunt nearby so i stay out of it out of respect for the hunters....why ruin a good thing not too many people will let you use their land.
Posted by: dmaricle
hell yea i wish i had access to some land near by to just have fun with. sounds like it will be awesome dude. are you looking to put some big jumps?
Posted by: CHEVYZ
That is awesome! Ya'll definately need to let us know when we can come out and help you guys out a bit with it! We would love to come help out a bit one weekend. It sounds like a cool *** setup that you are working on.

yea just let us know when u would like some help.
Posted by: bayou boy
the jumps wont be nothing too big...maybe some lil fast jumps maybe a double. for 2 reasons...i want to make them in the woods because he makes hay in the pasture and the second is i dont want to scare him by thinking someone will get hurt out there. i have access to a tractor with a front end loader so that should be ez. basicly it is about 30 min from my house so i go do a lil work then ride. i was working in brazil when i started on it so i had limited time but now i can finish it. i will probably take the recon out there next sat and scout it alot more. since we had alot of rain lately i want to go and make sure i keep the trails out of the low areas.....want it to dry quick and not get damaged. i like the fact that it is fenced in and no body can see you from the road that keeps people out. it is a rare oppurtunity that i am definitly taking advantage of. if it rains alot i just stay out till it dries. kind of preventive maintence. i also like the fact that the kids can ride without the worry of them getting run over. we just got baby girl a raptor power wheels.....lol. i want to try to get her on a 50 in 08'. will be a great place for her to learn. am thinking about a trip to sand hill next sunday....not this coming but the next. still have the paddles on from new years so i may as well take advantage

has anyone been to the grand prairy mx track? if so how is it.
Posted by: bayou boy
spillway area 1 closing next week on the 24th due to the river rising and basicly it is going to flood it. should be closed for about a month until the river crests....all the snow and rain up north. it usually closes once or twice a year for this reason. last year the river didnt get high enough but the year before it closed for a lil while. one positive side when it floods with the curent running it smooths out the roads pretty good. area 2 repairs will not start until may

You have got to be kidding me...
I guess I'll be riding at tracks until then.

kiesta00, how much more plus the stockers are you looking to get?
And don't you know, we are ALL running stock, piped bikes. They are fast by accident.....
Posted by: kiesta00
I was thinking $100 with the stock arms. let me know i'm flexible I just want to swap out these mx arms for some stock length ones and get some money so I can afford a 120 link chain for my new +6 swingarm
pm me if you're interested.

I'm heading to Gatorland MX Park on saturday. If my quad is together.

doubt if i am going....starting on my shop so i probably wont be riding for about a month.....i wish my 400 was fast whats the secret? maybe i could put an ltr graphics kit on it that may help
Posted by: CHEVYZ
We went and had fun, they had a surprisingly large turnout...and alot of fast bikes. I cammed the 05 a little while after I picked it back up, and it was running damn fast. It would take the 06 with me on it. No joke, it is making noises again. Everytime we bring it to Sand Hill something happens to the 05....literally every problem we have ever had with it has happened there (and only there) LOL. It is all good, though, it finally gives me a reason to start working on it.
I would have a **** load of pics, but we lost the camera when we were out there...don't even ask, it wasn't me.
Oh, and yeah, put those LTR graphics on and you will be ripping LMAO. They had two of them out there, and someone mentioned that they were fast...naturally I had to line up with them and burn them. It was funny as hell to me.

I cropped the image using paint and went to some online photo resizer to get it to a size that works. If you want me to set up one for you, I can do that.
BTW, it is taking me so long because I have to set up my computer to accept pics from my phone. I have a few snapped and just need to get them up.

We went with about 20 people or so, they all had utilities except me, my friend Jake and his friend Chris (jake brought me there) Anyway, they had too much mud, stuff we can't even get through, so we cruised around and found TONS of jumps!!! We have 35 minutes of us doing funny crap, jumping, roosting each other etc... when Jake gets his video on his computer he's going to send it to me i'm gonna try to edit some stuff.
Also, I busted my *** 3 times

It's alright, the best place I've been to (local place) only 15 minutes from my house
There's Area 1 and Area 2, area 1 is mostly wide open (some MX stuff, mudding areas, and a place for dragging) area two is trails (closed because of damn 4x4s) i tihnk i got that right, area 1 and area two, i haven't been there in a while

nice, thats where im going the weekend i get my 250R finished to try it out and see how it does

anybody feel like making a ride next sunday (4/1/07)? got my workshop about done and havent been on the quad since new years weekend so its time. the spillway reopened and i hear its smooth so i will go either there or sand hill.....any takers??

The spillway is great now, where you come out the parkinglot is extremely smooth, I come flying past the corner, slamming through the gears and not slowing down, I can ride now
I'm going out there Friday and Sunday is a possibility.

I don't want to post a new thread for this so I guess i'll ask you guys about it... It's about jetting. I have a 165K main jet and 42 pilot, at about 1/4 throttle it starts to bog a little, not really bog...it's hard to explain, it starts to stumble a little, isn't 1/4 throttle the fuel screw? I'm pretty sure I should richen the main a little bit, I haven't checked the plug yet but I'll do that soon.
Posted by: rafjr00
Do ya'll get the dirt out before you pull the plug?
Posted by: bayou boy
i usually leave the dirt there to fall in and help raise compression. not...i clean my quad after every ride...nothing i hate more than working on dirty quads especially where things get in the engine. i was going to go ride on my spot and start cutting more trails but since it seems a few of yall want to ride we will prolly go to the spillway..havent saw yall in a good while. ryan did you adjust the needle? with it warming up the motors are starting to run richer. the bog u feel.....does it feel a lil lazy when u shift gears at full throttle.....if so u be rich

Aw, that sucks. We are about to go out there with a few buddies who stopped by to beg me to go and if it is OK we will probably go back tomorrow.

how is the spillway since they reopened it? smooth? places to drag? good crowd?
Posted by: CHEVYZ
It is OK. Definately a million times smoother than it was, but it sucks that area 2 is closed. There was a pretty decent crowd yesterday, but the place where they were dragging at was horrible...way better places there, I have no idea why they chose it or at least the path that they took (In the back). The spot on side the parking lot is really smooth, but you get yelled at by the Spillway "Police" for drag racing there.

I'm not going today, I got people to see
My dad said there's people driving 100 miles an hour to get to the spillway, and there's a ****load of people down there. That's way too many people for me, I garuntee there's going to be an ambulance by the end of today.

Yes! I'm going! My friend is on his "Kelly-week" (fireman) and we're chaning my valve seals and replacing a gasket, were doing that on Thursday (no school)...Hopefully we'll be done by like friday maybe.

I was actually suppose to keep the brace on over the winter months and I decide not to, so now my wrist got F'ed up even more so I decided what the heck and put the brace back on

If that doesn't work out, can I borrow your YFZ, I keep it in tip-top shape and I might even get you a few great parts
