i was wondering if a pair of 19.25" shocks would fit on my 450r. its got lt houser's and its the length i need but there for a 400? thanks for any help jake

Call Houser! They would know best!

I would say no to those though, I think their arms use 19.75" shocks. I am not trying to sell you something you can't use!

im pretty sure i need 19.5 and i was just wondering cause i would love to have your shocks fit. .25" cant be that big of a diffrence. i was mainly wondering if the eyelits would fit?

THe eyelids should fit......people take 450R shocks and put them on 400EXs. Plus, you can buy different collars for aftermarket shocks.

well then if they are still around in december you can bet on me buying them.

Yes they will work. That is the same thing Im running on mine. I have Houser long travel a-arms on my 450r and I just took my axis shocks off my 400ex and put them on. You just have to re-adjust everything like preload, rebound, etc... But yes they will work. heres a pic.

great thanks... one question for you chris29. are they 19.25" long? thanks

Posted by: chris29

Yes they are 19.25" shocks. Houser Long Travel calls for 19.50" shocks but the 19.25" shocks work you just need to mess around with preload and everything. I've been running these shocks all season with no problems.

My friend has the same housers I sold you. He bought axis shocks direct from houser. They were 19.5 inch long. They bottom out goin off the face of every jump, every landing, and ride just plain horrible. he sent them off to Laz at gt thunder and he changed EVERYTHING. He also told us that Axis made the shock 5/8 of an inch too short and he should call and complain. I used to have elka 19.25 inch on those arms also (they were valved for xc though) and they rode like shyt. Your best bet would be to call houser and see what they think about it.
