Here is what I raced. I cant believe some of the stuff I did on this little 250. Last weekend I to this out to mess around on the track, and after racing a 440 and 450, all I had to say was, I raced this? Well heres my tricked out 250ex.

Here is my wife's 250EX...nothing special, 300EX front shocks and a 400EX front on the rear...that is about it...other than the white maier plastic

That looks good Lonestar. I had a friend tell me that Maier plastics used to be crappy back in the day because they were brittle (would break instead of flexing as much as stock plastic does). Whats your verdict on that? Are they better now days? Because I've been thinking of getting some, I'm tired of the yellow and black look.
Hey atvfrk10, what did you do to the rear axle? Do they sell wider axles for the 250EX?
Where did you get it?

Here's the wife's 2001 250EX that she powdercoated frame, swingarm, a-arms, mounts, etc. It has a JE piston, ASR +2 arms, wheel spacers on back, AC bumpers and nerfs, Pro Circuit T-4 Pipe, Jetted & K&N and LTR tires and wheels.

How do you like the 300ex shocks? What had to be done to put them on? Nice 250's everyone.

Kick: I think the Maier plastic is about the same as stock...they don't fit quite as well but the material and flex is about the same......
BlasterEaten250: They are alot softer than the 250's stockers....but the ones on this quad where about wore out when I got it.....they do give you a little more travel....since they are a little longer which for my wife is fine....
As for modifications to mount them up. You have to machine the bottom eyelet down to fit in the 250EX a-arm. And then the top mount has to have a spacer put in each side of the shock eyelet. The bottom of the shock then loses the seals so you will have more maintence on them.

I got a wider alxe from dura blue. They are the only company right now that makes them. You can get a wider axle for a 250ex from almost anyone who is a durablue dealer. And make sure they know your talking about a 250ex not a 250x because they sent me a 250x axle the first two times I ordered one.
