Your right! I just hope it dried up a little over the week. It was holdin water everywhere sat. when we raced there. Of course we had the monsoon before the race.

Posted by: Kev

I prefer the wet, over the Dust that place produces....

Posted by: watts16

yea.. the last one I raced there this summer the dirt was like powder. Couldnt see anything if some was ahead of you.

Posted by: Jube450

Well I assure you there will be NO dust tomorrow!

Posted by: wolf91

Well how did everyone do today? I had a little bad luck in the south woods and gashed my forehead open on the handlebars while going over a log. I had to go to the hospitol and have 28 stitches put in.
I thought the track was pretty tough with all of the hills and mud. Or maybe it's just because I'm old and out of shape.

Posted by: ronnie

I ironman the race i went 3hr 20min.i got third it was along race by myself im feeling 50 right now .they are realy bad about scoring people they have everyone scored wrong.

Posted by: Timmy301

Yeah, the scoring was a bunch off crap. I think they need to change to a fender or helmet tag system and make everyone stop at the checkpoints.

Other than that,I thought the track was damn good!

they did have a good track .gaylon and stanley did get first and dg and matt was in front of jake. they need to change there scoreing system gaylon and stanley are the most respectable guys out there and they didnt deserve that .

While I do agree with you that the scoring leaves little to be desired.... "Making" them stop and have their tag marked IS no different than them MAKING sure the people have the proper number written down. It still rely's upon the rider to make sure he is scored properly with these types of scoring systems. Just my .02

Posted by: dirtriderex

man, on the very last lap I bent my tie rod so bad I could not turn in any direction. 3 hours of riding and I did not get 2 finish

Posted by: Kev

As far as scoring goes, well it's not the first time casey has had problems with scoring. I don't see them fixing it anytime soon.
Best thing a rider can do is make sure the check points hear your number and do your best to provide that the number can be seen at all times. Just my opinion.

As far as the course goes, it was one of the better ones they had, it had plenty of challenges for all and made you ride smart at times.

Kev

Posted by: marniee62

All I know is that I went 5 laps and my partner went 5 laps and that adds up to 10. At the main check when you pull in and the lady stands in front of your bike and stops you and tells you to go after you give her your number, how can they not score you for lap 8, 9 and 10? We didn't leave until she told us to go. She had our numbers. I think there is some kind of politics going on because the guy that supposedly got first place, needed the points for the series.

Posted by: motoboy66

They showed me in 7th for B, I iron maned it and well I didnt care where I was. It was a good track, nice mix of trails, but no way was it 11 miles long. Do they post the times on the web, or once you leave the track is that it? If someone has some pictures, I would be interested in seeing where I was lap to lap. That was the official lat race for my 400ex. I made a deal with it about the 2:30 minute mark that if it finished it got to retire from racing. does anyone know how many guys ran iron man?

Posted by: marniee62

Is this you Todd? This is Gaylon. Yeah, it was a nice track, fun, they had us at 5th doing only 7 laps and me and Rick Stanley did 10 laps. There's too many people that know us and know that we don't have to cheat to win.

Posted by: motoboy66

Yeah this is me. Yeah I know you too are way to fast for me to do 2 more laps than you. It was a good track. Are you going to any of the hill billy races?

No politics. That guy that won could've only bettered himself if another guy dnf'd it and he did not. So I'm really sorry that you think you got screwed but it is the rider's responsibility to make sure he got scored. It's happened to me and many, many others.

Posted by: sspalco

all I know is that at least 60% of the people got screwed. If you did not race their series....you got screwed. We will never ever go to that place again. The way riders were treated was crap! It sure does make you appreciate the good series that the MHSC and the HBGP put on. Fairness to all!

Posted by: markk

It never changes guys, Iv been racing at LTM since 04 and evey year we always have the same exact issues. They promised us a few years ago that they where gona try Electronic Scoring_______ WELL_____ we are still back in the 19th century with good old pencils. and basic human error!

Like Jube said, we have all been SCREWED outs plaques and POINTS at LTM at some point in time or another. I think the only way to change there scoring system would be for EVERYONE (bikes and quad) to just let me know that we wont be racing there District hare scramble races untill they show us a new scoring system. Just my 2cents, But I will get ahold of the track and let them know about all the thoughts everyone has on the scoring issues and see what they can come up with for next year!

I know alot of people run Distric all year in tight points battles. Then when its close and a track misses one of your laps and your down 5 positions, that just waisted HUNDREDS of dollars out of someones pocket to try keep his/her point lead.

You got 5th over all at the 6 hour with me and I'm slow. YOu and Stanley should have taken the over all as fast as the two of you are.. Sounds like the promoter was the one doing the cheating not the riders.

Posted by: wolf91

I have raced harescrambles there since 1991, and they've always had scoring problems. They are NOT going to pay the money for electronic scoring until they are forced to do so. Jean is all about the bottom line ($), and he don't care if he loses a few riders, because a few more will take their place.

Posted by: markk

thats a very good point Wolf, But not a way to run an Interainment business. We dont have to race at Casey most of us could run another District race that weekend or a MidSouth.

The scoring system would pay for itself within a couple years, Iv spent hours and hours on end waiting for the scoring to be figgured out and he is paying those ladies while they have to have everyone *****ing and being upset with them. Im sure they go home more upset than any of us.

just my 2 cents

but the lady are getting better

Posted by: Kev

Well maybe they will jump on board like Fox Valley Off Road did. They invested in a transponder system. They have bugs in the system but 10 minutes after the race the results can be posted and you can see how fast you were, and such.

They charge you $15 for the transponder and if you don't want to keep it, then you return it after the race and you get 10 back. The version he has does have a few issues with the Honda's with there electronic ignition, but it's gotten better because of some testing we have done to make it work better. When everyone uses the same system it makes you only need to purchase one transponder for all the races.
It's the computer age, we should hope they invest in them....

Posted by: dirtriderex

That is why I missed every race at casey this year but the team race. They always start late and have scorin issues. I left before results were up.

easy there ... the guy that did win the overall was none other then Ryan Morphew .... GNCC #11 for 2008! and he had never ran a race over there before.

Donny Ockerman suffered a crash hurting his knee while in second place.

Brent foltz and Kenny Sampson are to very good riders also.

this is only the A class as far as the B classes go .... well its casey and they have kids out in the woods and i have heard the ladies tell the kids just look at the A guys and make sure you get there number they are the most important!

2008 he'll be top five is my guess

Posted by: sspalco

I don't think the arguement was about Ryan getting 1st overall, that guy was fast, It was about the +30 class.

The top three or four guys were right, but it went downhill from there. Everyone after the first 3 or 4 overall was screwed up.

I wasn't say that any rider was doing anything wrong. I was saying the promoter needs to do a better job at scoring. Ryan is fast, I have seen him race.

My beef is with the scoring not with any of the riders. sorry if it sounded that way.
