Stoppies? how to do them right?

Posted by: klutchbuster250

i could them but not to consistently, all u have to do is slow down to a god speed jam on ur front brakes wile u push ur weight foward and make sure not to lock ur front brakes.you wanna be at the point that u are about to lock them and when the back end comes up let got to roll but jab on the brakes to keep the quad from going back down.

i hope it helps, it kinda hard to explain

Posted by: 250exkid

bassically be going at a good speed get close to locking your front breaks up but dont and do that till your back end comes up and keep tapping the break ( on off on off) like that to keep it up off the ground... remember there hard and a wast of your breaks hope this was explained a little better!

thanks for the info. will try again tomorrow, the weather was crappy today so i just went mudding.

Posted by: Kickstarts_Suck

ive never had front brakes that work good enough to do them

Posted by: 400exfan19

ive tried them but its hard. i think my brakes arnt good enuf

Posted by: Villageidiott23

tried them too, my *** just ended up slamming into a fence. got pissed and flipped the bike over and walked home...

Posted by: idontknowwhoiam

get your weight shifted forward a lil bit..not way crazy...try to squeeze your tank between your thighs...hammer on your front brake and when your ***** end comes up, judge if u need less or more brake..it takes a while and you will go over the front end somtimes....

Posted by: 400exrider36

it may be harder on different quads.... such as if u come off a blaster onto your friends 250ex, fly down town streets without a helmet and decide to lock up the front brakes, flip forward and slide under the quad for the rest of the block....like a friend of mine did... ya lol

Posted by: idontknowwhoiam

only pic i got...not real good my rear end swung out to the right....(hadda crop my head off cuz i wasnt DOT approved)

Posted by: Nate_450R

How far is it possible to go? i know some street bike riders will go crazy far but what about on a quad? im sure its not near as far but...what are we talkin like 10-15 feet? further?

Posted by: Kickstarts_Suck

ive never seen anyone "ride" a nose wheelie just slam the brakes and get the rear end off the ground for a few seconds

Posted by: sled_ed 300ex

get a 450 hahaha the brakes are insane, well ican do actual nose wheelie and ride on the front tires for like 20 feet or so but it takes a hole lot of times and prectice and scratched bumpers ...... you just need to figuer out where the ballence point is and then get ussed to getting there and after that trying to ride out the brakes and letting the quad ride on them hahah it hard but with practice you will get it lol

Posted by: idontknowwhoiam

i can bring um up and ride um out till u stop and then drop.......somtimes......this is to much brake to fast

if you have good pad life stilll you should be able to do it.. if you feel that the front brake has a spongey feel to it.. add more fluid.. make sure its the right one.. I added more fluid and I hond even have to really lean forward..

Posted by: idontknowwhoiam

Posted by: Honda4lyphe

hah my ex has new front brakes so i thought id give it a go, lets just say the plastic on my helment is bashed to pieces. i went wayy too fast lmao, and hey guys give the guy a break he shouldve worn his helment for sure but maybe he got too excited to do one he forgot..heh

Posted by: sled_ed 300ex

where just saying man no hard feelings .... its just realy importent .. you all know that !!!

Posted by: f4istunna

stoppies are fun i can go around 150ft on a streetbike maybe 20 -25 ona quad lol.
i like to preload the front like said above just to where it feels like there going to lock up then apply more pressure until the rear comes up then just smooth ont he brake to keep it at balance point. if you pump the brakes its alot harder to steer

Posted by: Honda4lyphe

ive been trying it more since i last posted, ive slightly masterd it, though ima crazy rider i cant go without SLAMMING the brakes too hard going too fast..its really fun but my brakes went from new to about 70% FAST, ill load some pics tomorrow if your doing this..make sure you know how escape if the worst happens, one time i did it i couldnt get out of the way and the ex did a complete front flip trampling me, it was sweet though but i cracked 2 ribs, and yet another chunk of my helment is gone..im still doing it though rofl
