Questions on 400EX-

If you replaced the stock clutch and parking brake monstrosity, what did you do with the clutch safety pressure switch thingie that requires the clutch be pulled before the bike can be started?

Looks to me like if I just snip the thing off, strip the wires and solder them together, I'll be good to go. Right?

Also I replaced the clutch lever with an ASV and the clutch cable with a Motion Pro.

The new setup seems to have less slack in the cable (where it comes up thru the plastic, near the bars) . Doesn't interfere with steering, but it seems a little tight.

Any suggestions?

you are correct, connect the 2 wires and then it will start in gear or w/o the clutch pulled. As far as the cable goes it may be a little short but if it works w/ no problems, RIDE it!

I am runnin pretty much the same setup u are cable and lever wise, I kinda had to mess w/ the routing of the cable to get the most slack out of mine that i could. Its not run the way the stock one is from pretty much the header up. You just have to mess w/ it.

I ran mine up on the engine side of the oil cooler, and thru the metal wire loop the throttle and front brake line also goes thru.

I think I'm gonna run it outside the wire metal loop, which will let it have more play when I turn left.

Why dont you just route it like the stock cable was routed?
I have a motion pro cable and I ran it through the little metal loop on the clutch side motor mount, through the header pipe, up past the oil cooler, into the plastic heat shield clip that the stock one was routed through and up to my perch.

Cuz routing it that way made it so I had less slack.

The cable sheath is the same length, but the cable itself is shorter than stock.

yeah instead of runnin mine through the loop on the stem clamp this is where mine is routed, cable farthest to the right http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q49/ImplodedMindZ/DSC00207.jpg

Thanx for the pic, I Z.

Ive noticed that motion pro must make their cables smaller or somthin cause with my throttle cable I have almost NO slack.
