im getting shinny orange plastics for my 250r, some reason they dont make a orange hood. i want racing plates with numbers...
what hood should i get???
thanks

The best looking will be a quad tech scoop but they are pricey at $165. If you want to go with the cheaper option the Maier smooth black 250R hood is the way to go.

I like maier vented.

Im getting a Quad tech, but I thought the new 250r maier plastics were one piece? Im purty sure they are, please lmk.
But I'd get any nice carbon fiber one (with blue carbon in it).
Or something cheaper would be a nice blue hood

I think quadtech hoods are over priced, by the time you get them here to canada its damn near $350 and they are only made out of carbon fiber which chips.
Posted by: stocktires
Well, were not in canada and Most places will repair the CF it it gets chipped up bad or broken for free! And the maier hoods just look old and cheap and dont get any air-flow to the ignition cooler thingy

Plus I can get a CF hood for only $100 shipped

350 for a 250r hood, rip off, i would never spend that much money on that, it looks good, but way too much money!!!

I have a Feather Carbon hood on my R, and it looks pretty good. There's a guy around that used to race TQRA with the same hood on his EX, and it looks pretty good. I think the Quad Tech's look better. A friend of mine put a Quad Tech smoothie(from my R) on his EX, and it looks DANG good.

MX26, which of Thomas' hoods did you get? The scrath resistant, or gloss finish one? The gloss one looks just as good, if not better, than the quadtech.
Posted by: MX26
I got the gloss one. Man I will be honest, I think my hood(from the back, or side-rear) looks better than any scooped hood I've ever seen, but it isnt all that sharp from the front/sides. Check out: My 250R for some pics. Maybe I'm biased, but I still love the way my R looks
Happy roosting.

Sweet R,
I like it. I got the hood that's shaped like a quadtech, Prolly the same as your's.
My R is gonna look alot like yours when Im done, except a black frame and polished beadlocks
Posted by: MX26
Cool. My R had a stock frame and smoothie hood when I bought it. It looked okay, but the red frame and black stem make it look even better. I have a set of 8" Douglas Ultimate beadlocks with 18" Razrs now, but no pics with them on.
Where in LA do you live? I would like to make it out to Bad to the Bone sometime.
