06 efi 500 sportsman wont idle

my 06 sportsman with 10 miles on it wont idle. i was thinking its needs tobe broke in..
any ideas?

Take it to the dealer where you bought it. With only 10 miles on it, it is well within the warranty period.

Check the ETC switch (electronic throttle control) If it is out of adjustment it will not let it idle. From the throttle housing follow the cable down about three inchs and adjust it. You can tell if it needs adjustment real easy if you feel play in the thumb throttle. If that doesnt fix it take it to the dealer!

take off the side panel, remove the bolts that hold the shifter in. Pull it out and it will come unbound. With the shifter out move the linkage back and forth and just reinstall the shifter. it may have extra slop to let that happen. unfortunatly so early it may be the case
