I bought a 87 250x and from what I thought needed a valve and piston kit now needs everything replaced. I know the 85-86 ATC350, 300ex, and stock 250x will work with some mods of course. But is there any other motors that will work? Maybe a motorcycle motor? I wouldn't mind doing something crazy and I have experience building some stuff from scratch and making it work and have a couple of good mechanics that can help out also. If you can post up some realistic ideas that "can" be done and let me know..And if you know of any motors for sell then let me know about that also. Thanks

what do you plan to do with it??

trails? xc racing? playing around? that would be a good place to start.

I have seen 2 different 300s with 400ex motors in them

Well I have a 250x not a 300.....I plan on using it to just play around on.

put a xr600 motor in it ... still air cooled so there wont be a radiator to worry about mounting in the little chassis
