I understand how to adjust the stockers. But do I need a special wrench or have to compress the spring? I was thinking of fabricating one.

I recently used a large pair of channel lock plyers. It worked out really well. Just be carefull you only grip the adjuster and dont grab the spring (so ya don't scuff it up)

They make a wrench called a spanner wrench. Mine was like $15. It is also useful in tightening the chain. Also, my Lonestar anti-fade axle nut is made such that a spanner wrench can be used to adjust it. May not be an absolute neccessity to have one but it sure is handy.

Oh yeah, you don't have to compress the spring. I usually put the frame up on a stool or something else so it allows the shock to fully extend. This will take some tension off the spring and make adjustments easier.

Does the spanner wrench fit the shocks. Is it adjustable wrench or one set size? Where'd ya get it?

Mine has a different size on each end. Go to ebay and look up this item number: 330038706031. I would have added a link but I don't know how. Anyway, the one I referred you to looks alot like mine. I picked it up at a local aftermarket atv parts and service shop. It grabs the ring next to the spring and makes it much easier to turn. I hope this helps.

if you go to a harley dealer you can get a spanner wrench for about $8.......its about the only thing in there thats under a $100

There are 5 positions on the stockers. When I bought my 06 it was set on 2. I just bought some replacement shocks and they were set on 4, there is a good difference. They are much stiffer and you feel everything. 1 being the sofftest setting, 5 being the stiffest setting. Hope this helps.
