IVE STARTED A TOP END REBUILD ON MY 400EX . SO FAR IVE TORE DOWN THE HEAD EVERYTHING LOOED REAL GOOD SO I CLEANED EVERYTHING REAL GOOD AND LAPPED THE VALVES . I GOT A .040 PRO X PISTON KIT FOR $35 FROM DENNIS KIRKS SCRATCH AND DENT STORE ON EBAY. I KNOW THIS PISTON IS STOCK COMPRESSION BUT IS THERE ANYWAY TO BOOST IT A BIT WITHOUT HAVIN THE HEAD MILLED IE. THINNER GASKETS. I DO MOSTLY WOODS RIDING SO WOULD THERE BE ANY BEIFIT TO INSTALLING A STAGE1 HOTCAMS KIT? ALSO I RIDE AT AROUND 3000FT ANYONE GOT ANY JETTING TIPS FOR THIS SETTUP. IM ALSO INSTALLING AN HMF PIPE. THANKS FOR ANY INPUT.

With all of that you could probably get away with a stage2 hotcam.

yeah a stage 1 or 2 hotcam will work. just run a thin cosmetic head gasket. since you took the head off you will want to replace the gasket anyways. you don't have many other options unless you buy a different piston.

sorry about using caps wasnt paying attn. do i just order the standard cosmetic gasket set or is there a specific high compression set. thanks for the input
