A-arm skids for 300ex

I have a 300ex with a full skid and swing arm skid. What I wanted to know is whether you consider a-arm skids to be a waste of money or whether they are worth purchasing. Is it common to bounce/scrape your a-arms off rocks? I do alot of trail riding.

If you do consider them a good purchase, which brand would you suggest I purchase?
