im looking to either get a 400 ex or predator to start racing with. I do not want to get an 03 predator becuase of the tranny problems and the frames crack easily(from what i hear). I want to start harscrambles and do some local races but need help as to if the predators are reliable enough? Any good and bad input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I had a modified 400ex it had good power but nothing compared to the predator.

I sold the 400ex and got a 05 troy lee, best thing I could have done.

The predator suspension is 100 times better. Power is far superior especially when you put a pipe and filter on it.

I have had my predator for almost 1 year now and have ridden the crap out of it everytiem I get on it. My only breakdown has been mushroomed seat grommits. I also race harescrambles and do very well.
