i am going to change it tomorrow and i wanted to know how long it took or if there is anything i should be aware of before i start.

You doing the back or front? The front you just take off a big nut. and the rear you just take off 4 nuts.

Mine is just out there in the open. No guard around the sprocket. I belive from the factory they have a guard around the front sproket so you will have to take that off.

Ya its real easy. Takes me like ten mins.. Just loosen the chain up all the way, take the front sprocket guard off with a 8mm socket, take the two 10mm bolts off the holder plate that holds the sprocket on and slip it off, then the sprocket should slide right off the spline. Reverse steps when putting on the new one.. Remember tho when you put the holder plate back on that it wont be in line with the sprocket. The holder plate stays in the little groove that goes all the way around the spline. Its kinda offset to keep the sprocket from coming off the spline...

Also, when you put the new one on, a little side to side wiggle in the new sprocket is normal, don't let this alarm you
