Why do you want to know what name brands and shocks people are running?
People that get +1, they ride trail/xc and the shocks are valved kind of soft.
+1 dont help a hole lot over stock.

I want to know how people came to their choices of a-arms shock combos.
That's because I plan on doing mostly XC, but I want to be able to do lite MX. Doubles and table tops of 25' or less.
I was thinking +1's cuz I put them on my 250R and they made a big difference in the corners. I almost never bicycled or high sided in the turns with them.

Most xc quads shocks can handle mx you just need to set the compression stiffer but the xc quads tends to sit taller/skinnier than the mx quads. I seen xc quads hit pritty big jumps and not bottom but the xc quad would still be tippier than the mx quad in the turns and would be heavier. A adjustable axle would be a thing to get so you could extend the rear for mx.
I seen a xc yfz450 against a mx yfz450 well on the mx track the xc quad stayed close to the mx quad but the mx quad could handle turns better. The xc 450 handled all the jumps.
I see a lot of xc riders using axis and they try to use +1, long travle A-arms. I was told when the A-arms are 1"forword their is more weight on the rear which would be good for traction which you need in xc and mx.
