when using a dirt bike kill switch button as a starter is there any certain bike switch that you have to get or will any switch work

YOU NEED TO KNOW IF THE SWITCH YOU ARE USING IS N/O OR N/C..

how do you find this out before buying one

You call the company selling it and ask them.

which one do i need n/o or n/c

Hmmm... Let's see... A kill switch/ off button using as an ignition start button. Pushing the button would complete the circuit, or closing it, to start the quad. So the button out, the circuit would be normally open. Which is what you want when using the bike kill switch as a start. So normally open, I would think is what you want. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Now don't confuse this with a tether kill switch, in which normally closed is best for the LTR.

look for a push button kill for a KX250 they work the same. just connect the orang wires together then take the yellow/w black and hook it up to one of the wires to the kill and the black wire to the other.

I used the CR Kill switch for my starter, works like a charm. Be careful though, if you wire it up backwards, the starter will keep cranking after the bike starts.
