you shouldnt have any problems replacing just the bars as long as you stay with 7/8 bars. All the replacement clamps are for going to an oversize (1 1/8) bar. Just luck bro.

I would recommend going to oversize bars. When you start looking to move the key pad, it's hard to find a clamp to replace that has all of the holes for your lights. I went with Renthal bars, which I like, but you don't have much room to play with when it comes to the factory key pad.

by the time you strip everything off, change the bars, and blah blah, you might as well just buy a clamp kit as well. fat bars are way stronger, and buying a clamp kit that holds all the icons in place looks clean.
www.hpd-inc.com sells their "power max" clamp for $80 (thats what i got) and trail tech sells theirs for like 70-80 on www.rockymountainatv.com check those out.
heres a lil tip too; MOST people like the feel of taller bars and or risers. IF you get a clamp kit, first, bolt your stock clamp on the bars and then bolt the clamp kit on top of it. its kind of a ghetto riser technique but it works. thats what i did and am pretty happy with it.

I just replaced my bars last weekend. I went with stock because they are only $40
