Can anybody tell me what the mix should be if I am using polaris PS2 oil? I think I want to remove the oil injection.
thanks
Scott

I would mix up a small amount at 32:1 and then do a plug check. Usually 32:1 works about perfect.

Thanks for the info. i have a couple more questions. when you say 32:1 32 parts gas to 1 part oil = 128 ozs of gas(1 gallon) to 4 ozs oil. Is there a better oil to use?
Thanks

We used Bel ray H1r. I bought a ratio right mixing cup to get it right. You can buy them at bike shops and also use them if you have any other 2 stroke motors.

We are using the Klotz Super Techniplate and mixing at 32:1 also...says on the bottle how to mix it. If I remember correctly it is one bottle to 4 gal of gas...we also have a ratio rite if needed.

We use Amsoil Dominator oil at 45:1 and VP c12 Racing fuel seems to work ok

IS THERE A PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE TO REMOVING THE STOCK OIL INJECTOR AND TANK AND PREMIXING?? JUST WONDERING WHAT THERE IS TO IT BECAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE ALOT OF PEOPLE DITCH THERE PERFECTLY GOOD (AND HASSLE FREE) OIL INJECTORS, BUT I'VE NEVER HEARD WHY.

their not reliable enough.mixing the oil in the gas will neaver seized the motor.it doesnt take much to hurt a high reving motor.

Each oil blends differently with a specific fuel, you should always go by the oil manufacturers suggestion. Removing the oil injection is a good way to shave some weight and add reliability, provided you remember to mix the oil.

Doesn't it say NOT for premix on the bottle?
Some oils are diluted so they work in injector systems.
If the manufacture says not to do it on the bottle then I would recommend not doing it.
Other wise start at 20 to 1 and maybe, work your way up to 24 to 1. Injector systems are set up to work with a 20 WT. 2 stroke oil not a concentrate like used when pre mixing.

Generally a cleaner running, better responding engine. There are plenty of high grade injector oils...but.... There are plenty of really high performing premix oils.
The injector systems put on these machines are good for moderate horsepower increases. As the need for more horsepower is met so is the need to up the lubrication quality and consistency.
The last race bikes, 2 stroke dirt bikes, that came with oil injection were the Can Ams of the late 70's, and the TM Suzuki series which ended in about 1975.
The weight loss and the parasitic drag on the crankshaft driving the oil pump are 2 good reasons for it's removal. The plus of removing the oil tanks is the additional room made available for expansion chamber design or rear shock laydown position.
IMO

I hate to sound like a dummy but is it as simple as plugging off the tube that runs into the carb, and then just removing the rest of it like tank and pump assembly or is their more to it?
Thanks Jason

Yes it can be as simple as that. I would consider calling Terry Cable and buying a single cable for your carb.

I went ahead and changed it over but I do need a single cable.
Thanks for the info.
