Hello I want to know if I can fit a wire harness of a 88 or 89 250r with a 86 CDI . that will work fine?

The main connector in the harness wont match up, you will need to splice the wires together.
The CDI box has a different timming advance curve from the 87/88/89 box.

I have a 88 harness on my 86. Everything plugged right in. If you use a 89 harness, I think one of the stator plugs was changed, so that would be what you would have to splice together.

Neil, do you have specifics on the differences? Even if you don't have a graph, do you have the details (i.e. 2 degrees more advanced from 6000RPM up, ect...)
