86 vs the 87 and up Motors

So being that the 86 is a short stroke, is more of a rever than teh 87 and up, meaning the 87 and up would have more torque right??

i know the 88 made the most power........ but other than the short rod the arent too many more changes besides the clutch and a taller 5th and 6th, but the average rider wont notice too much of a difference between all the years.

The 86's seem to rev a little faster. Don't get that confused with higher revs, they all rev to about the same peak RPM, it's just that the short rod motors tend to get there a little quicker.
