Looks sweet! Look like it would be a great woods racer. I like the red accents that you put on it. Are those Elka shocks or modded stockers?

Posted by: redrunner

It's all about the trails for me...those are C&D/TCS rebuilds to the stockers...

Thanks guys...

so how hard was it to install that bad boy, how much did it give in terms of hp gains and what effect did it have on the power band. sorry about all the questions, but i think thats my next addition, just wanted someone who has one's input

Posted by: redrunner

With my mods, that look similar to yours (no internals) yet. The gain is in response and pull through the gears. HP gains I could not tell you but I don't believe they are huge if at all. The z head is ported very well and is really restricted when it comes to fuel/air flow by the carb so this is like when you added your pipe and you went Wow! it really woke it up. You can without a doubt tell what is does and for a $200 bucks it is a cheap mod and alot of fun. If you decide to do it there is a ton of info on the swap right down to an entire step by step thread I can give you.

Edit: Oops sorry did not notice you have cams...then I would do this carb mod without a doubt....

Try this out.

I used the stock boot and heated it with a hairdryer, it is a little longer then the DRZ boot. My carb is right off of a 05 YFZ.

nice link .. did you have any with jetting or installation?
now all i need to do is find one for a bargain

Posted by: redrunner

I am in northeast ohio, I run a 160 main and a 45 pilot, carb part warehouse carries them. Oh, needle on the 3rd clip.

Posted by: jonboy

I know this thread is for the carb, sorry Rockman for the interuption, but I am really interested in your rebuilt factory shocks. What did it cost to have those done? I'm trying to weigh the options for suspension, which is going to be my next project. How comparable are they to Elkas or Works? If you know that is?

Posted by: redrunner

I am not sure on the cost now days, I had it done over a year ago and they were the first set of 05's they had done. So as a favor Colby gave me a good deal on all 3.

I like them alot better than my elkas I ran on my 300 but not as soft as the works, that's not a bad thing but anyone who has rode them says they love the ride. I was still in recovery from my ACL surgery when I got the bike and never rode it hard with the stockers however I have ridden others stock and it is 100 times better.

Posted by: rockman

thats ok jonboy, that was my next question anyway

Posted by: redrunner

Tell you what guy's just got back from hard weekend of riding and this thing is just a blast to ride! Wow!
