ive got a 04 yfz, i freshened it up with a new piston and rings over the winter, ive got maybe 8 races and 3 to 4 practice sessions on it tops.... should i do a piston and rings again or just re ring it , also it shifts good, no reason to think the crank is bad, any need to go into the lower end? or its not broke dont fix it? im gonan put my spare fresh clutch in and prob do the water pump seal, any other recomendations? thanks guys

I would go ahead and put a timing chain and valve springs on it, if for no other reason they are cheap.
Re-ringing it should be fine but I would go ahead and pull the piston and at least look at the pin bore. Just this week i got a little suprise looking at mine.
You might also consider putting a new shift shaft in it, if you haven't already. I have seen several twist off and again they are fairly cheap.
