I just had my jp frame powdercoated and i am putting it together when i noticed that on my subframe their are no mounts for the front support of my airbox. I can weld them in but i will have to have it re powdercoated and i would rather not do that. What else could i do? any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks fellas

One thing you could do is drill and tap the subframe for two small bolts, something like 5mm x .8 pitch. Red locktight them in place, cut off the heads then press the stock Honda rubber mounts in place. Kinda rigged up though.

That isnt a bad idea. If i left the head on and used an allen head bolt it will probrably hold the rubber grommet on better too. Thanks for the idea.

Glad to help. Is that JP frame a stock link or no link? Dose it use stock R footpegs or the JP pegs. Just wondering, thanks, Matt.

Thats would be pretty sad if i had to use zip ties. Although my brother in law bought a 250r and everything was zip tied on. He hit a nice jump at gordons well and everything, plastic, seat, and even the rear master cylinder reservoir flew off. This r will be perfect in every way. long travel, 330 etc.
This frame is a stock link style but has the no link mount too. It also uses the jp style footpegs. I got a set from rebel banshee and they are off getting powdercoated.

ballances bikes were held together by more zip ties then nuts and bolts

HAHAHA... thats what is holding mine on cuz the guy i bought it from borke the supports off so i just drilled a small hole on each side of the air box then zip tied it to the fram. so far so good.

I know alot of people think powercoat is sacred, but heres what i do..buzz the coat off with a disc sander, weld 'er up and blast it witht he closest color spray paint you have. The airbox is going to keep anyone from knowing its there. The other think I do it use zips ties!
