here she is before i started to chop her up

atleast i didnt get carried away, the top half of the ramp was fine the bottom half needed to be redone so off with the front half of the bottom rails, then i could cut notches in the back of the curved rail and "unbend" it into a smoother bigger radius. due to this it needed to be 13 inches taller for the new radius to come all the way out to the floor correctly, and it would also be 47 inches longer,

in this pic the re curved bottom is done

yellow lines = the old bottom to show howmuch was un bent from the old radius

blue lines = show the new bottom rails and the back feet at the corners to make it taller, also shows the entire new curve, keep in mind it will also have the 2 1/2 feet long flip down one the end so total itll be 17 feet long and 6'2" tall and it was allready 6 feet wide.

jsut waiting on some new torch fittings to fix our torch b/c the O2 line blew up the other day (good thing it was the cetelene s/p?)

the new torch stuff will be here tomorrow so hopefully saturday itll be complete

the bottom extension getting cut and ready to go

Posted by: Rootar

this was jsut layed together but its actually done now and looks like this except it has the cross beams in there and has the stripping where the tires run on... but you can see it good in this pic

6' 2" tall 6 wide 17 long

looks good ross we may have to do that to my ramp this winter. But we need to work on out landing more than anything.

So how much is it costing you to do that extension? is that your shop?

Posted by: Rootar

so far its only cost me $35 lol all the steel added we had laying on the steel rack so it was free (left over) from other projects, hence the round tubing. The 35 went to (6011) welding rods and gas for our welding machine.

found this picture on the other memory card

wtf is that?!?!?

Posted by: Rootar

lol thats my dad on the low light setting i set my camera for a really slow shutter setting to focus good and well everything has to be really still or its blurry like my dad

well i can say one thing omg is it smooth at 40 right now and im gonna move it back a lil further after i eat some lunch

this was definatly worth it it feels just like a full size (with out the top two feet of course) but right now im at full soft on all settings on my shocks hitting it in top of third gear and im not framing on preload, now before i would have my high and low comp fully cranked to barely not frame on preload in 3rd so it worked
