guys im tryin to install new rear pads but i cant get the damn piston to compress using a c-clamp. i've heard somethin about a parking brake needs to be loosened. what do i do?

The parking brake is on the left side of the caliper, if you are looking at it from behind. Take the two bolts off that hold the parking brake on. You should be able to compress the piston then.

Just a suggestion....get rid of the parking brake, it's nothing but trouble anyway.

where do i get a block plate or can i just make one myself

Alot of people make their own, it doesn't serve any function except looks. Just use the parking brake as a template. I would recommend C&D Racing if you want to buy one. They are a site sponsor and have a section on here.

I may be wrong but dont block off plates prevent brake fluid from leaking out of your caliper?

No, brake fluid doesn't leak out when you take the brake off.
