i am going to buy a bumper soon and want the ac mudscreen, has anyone had problems with them or are they as good as they look?

i wasnt sure if i was going to like it either and i ordered one thinking it was the old style but it grew on me it looks better on the quad then it does just in a picturewhen i get new pix i will post them sry this is all i have for now u cant even tell it is the new style and my quad looks like shyt

yea mine is the new style with the sides pushed back some if worst comes to worst and you like the new style but dont want to buy one run into a tree with both sides of the old style bumper and then sand it down and polish it

A friend of mine powdercoated his a dark cherry red color. I thought it looked pretty cool but I like my polished AC better.

glad most of you guys like our bumper. we dont advertise ploshed bumpers w/mudsreens cuz its a pain the ***** to get it done. we have to send it out twice to have it done. now as for the old style frame. after we ran out, we discontinued them. you might be able to find one at one of the dealers but i dought it. havent made them like that since last year.

finaly there is some1 i can talk to about ur nerfs,,,my left one has the net mounts in totaly didffrent spots, the mudgards rub up against my fenders. that is the only thing i have had problems with them but maybe u gys should maybe like fix thouse problems

heres my ac, its taken a couple hits from trees and there a dent from a rock in the mud screen, its held up well

we offer a h/d version of both skids. how h/d are you looking for?
the h/d rear is the regular skid (which is made out of .190) double plated in the inpact areas. the h/d gluide plate ( standerd is .125) is .160. we'd make the gluides thicker but the machine we us has trouble punching the dimple for the bolts. i have in the past made a few .250 thick ones but it was all by hand.

whats the purpose of the a c nerfs being " sprung" ?

i figure its because it will allow the aluminum to snap back and be a tighter fit? i had a freind tell me trick for installing them and its no sweat...heck...i pulled them off tonight and put them back on in less then 5 mins.

actually they are not sprung on purpose. they shrink a bit in the rear bend after being welded. we have tried every thing to keep them from doing that. we now have a table in the shipping dept. so they can be pulled back out to where they are suposed to be before they are shipped out.

they rub about half an inch,,, and the tabs dont cause me any trouble, but i was wondering if a diff person makes the right nerfs than the left ones... i have heard many people says thei left/right nerfs are diff from eachother,,, oh yeah, btw i still love em and think they are a nice product.

about the skidplates, i am looking to buy a swingarm skid, i want to go with all ac stuff but i have heard they are not as strong as Prm for example, so can u tell us a lil more info about polished mudscreens, and stronger skid,,price, etc...

I love the looks of the newer AC's, they look more "sleek" on the bikes.... when I get a new quad here in the next couple months that's what I'll be running for a bumper

not a whole lot to tell. i have a h/d skid on my 400ex. its taken a few good hits and hasen't bent up into the chain or disc yet. it all depends on what you are looking for and what kind of riding you do. i myself ride out in the desert alot. we've had customers us them in the baja 500 and 1000.
as for the nerfs, yeah there is usally 2-3 differnt guys working on them at one time. we have 15 guys heliarcing total.

Anyway, heres a pic of my need-to-be-polished AC bumper without the screen...i like it. (It was so polished when i first got it that i didnt really like it because it didnt match my frame at all...lmao...)
